"An awkward situation I've been in?" Naina nods in answer to my question, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
As soon as the food arrived, she started bombarding me with questions. Ronan and Theo? Silent spectators, sipping their drinks and probably enjoying the free entertainment.
I have to admit, this place is amazing. The dim lighting, the faint hum of jazz in the background, and the occasional clink of plates—it feels so peaceful. I could come here every day.
Now. Awkward situations...hmm. Got it.
"Okay, so this happened just last year," I begin, taking a sip of my cocktail. "My boyfriend and I broke up around, like, April."
"Wait, boyfriend?" Theo interrupts, his eyebrows shooting up.
"Ex-boyfriend now," I clarify. "Anyway, we’d booked a trip together, months in advance—before the breakup. It was for August. Naturally, I thought he wouldn’t show up. But guess what? He did."
"Oh my gosh," Naina whispers. "And?"
"It was awkward," I say, raising an eyebrow as I twirl my fork in the pasta. "I thought it was going to be a solo trip, but nope. There he was, sitting right next to me on the six-hour flight."
"Six hours?!" Theo winces like he can feel the pain.
"It gets worse." I pause, letting their anticipation simmer. "About halfway through the trip, he decided—get this—that the best way to win me back was to try to... seduce me."
"NO!" Theo exclaims, dropping his fork onto his plate.
"Ew!" Naina clutches her glass like it’s her emotional support.
"Wha-" Ronan actually speaks, looking more shocked than I’ve ever seen him.
"Yes," I confirm, enjoying their reactions a little too much. "He really thought that was the move. Safe to say it didn’t work. But, to be fair, by the end of the trip, things weren’t as awkward. We actually talked, got some closure, and that was the last I ever saw or heard from him."
I shrug, popping a piece of pasta into my mouth. "Not the worst trip I’ve been on. But definitely the weirdest."
"You've been on worse trips? Worse than this?" Ronan says raising his eyebrows.
"Unfortunately, yeah. Trauma- filled."

"So..." I stand, unable to move. This is definitely not what I expected on a saturday morning.
