"So hard to ignore you, keep your body open."
|Nova Sinclair |
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
I'm about to kill Theodore Abbott. For a lot of reasons.
There is one thing I'm perfectly glad about, I was in my room when the news dropped.
I can't imagine being at school or anywhere public, with all of them looking at me like I'm a criminal.
My phone rings loudly, and Theo's face pops up.
After hesitating, I decide to pick up. "Soo..." He starts.
"I need to know what happens now." I plop down on my bed, the rain against my windows a loud noise.
"Nothing. We just carry on, this just goes on."
"Great."
"No, I'm being for real. Don't take it too seriously." I hear him exhale slowly.
Don't take what seriously– the kiss, or the news?
Sometimes I wish I could be a mind reader.
"I gotta go. Bye." I hang before he can say anything.
Putting my phone down, I rub my hands up and down my face.
All I wanted was a peaceful year.
So much for peace.
I grab my coat and head down to the common hall, for the meeting.
Quiet chatter fills the room as I enter and take a place at one of the sofas.
"If everyone is here, let's begin." Roland stands up and walks to the front of the room.
The room is filled with paintings, candlesticks and antique pieces lining every wall and corner of the room.
Dust coats the ceiling, and the shelf of books at the corner of the room stands lonely.
I always found a certain type of comfort in this hall, it's like I teleported to the 18th century France.
"For the first round, I'm sure everyone received the topic. So, who's interested?"
Six hands shoot out from the crowd,
"Thank you, guys."
