"Andre, are you sure that this is going to work out?" Taylor asked her best friend, Andre Iguodala of the Golden State Warriors as the two walked into the party going on that night.
The team was celebrating their recent championship win in 40 years and they could all bring along some friends. Andre decided to bring his best friend Taylor, not only to accompany him but to introduce her to his teammate, Stephen Curry. He knew Taylor needed to get out more, and he thought Stephen was the perfect guy for her.
"And there he is now. Steph, this is my best friend, Taylor. Taylor, this is my 'brother', Steph." Andre introduced the two and they smiled at one another.
A few hours went by and the two hit it off immidiately and before she left Stephen asked her out on a date.

Now, here Taylor stood, staring at herself in the mirror. Tonight was important for her; she had a date with the MVP, Stephen Curry.
She had to admit that she has had a crush on the baby-faced assasin ever since she herself moved to California to pursue an acting career {and the reason also being that her best friend Andre had moved here as well}.
"You can do this, Tay. You're gonna go out there... and have an amazing first date with Steph," She spoke to herself, giving herself a pep talk. She finished putting on her earrings and making sure that her makeup was done.
At the restaurant, she waited at the table reserved for the two. Minutes went by, and she began to think that maybe he bailed on her for something better. Did he even want to be on this date with her right now? A few more minutes went by, and right as Taylor was about to pick her stuff up and leave, Stephen almost bursted into the restaurant.
"I'm here, I'm here!" Stephen said, fixing his tie. He looked... different. Not a bad different, he just looked extremely stressed and nervous.
"Uh... are you alright?" Taylor asked, slowly sitting back down once she saw Stephen.
"What? Yes of course, I'm fine!" He answered, sitting down himself. "So, uh... how are you doing?" He said, trying to start up a conversation.
She shrugged before honestly answering with an "I'm alright." and asking him the question.
Time went by, and things were just so awkward. Taylor's thoughts began to come back, maybe he really didn't want to be on this date with her. Whenever she would speak, he wouldn't even look at her. She thought he was showing no interest and that actually hurt her. She tried to ignore it, she really did. But it was just getting to her and it bugged her way too much.
"Actually, Stephen... can I ask you something?" She finally spoke up, earning a nod from him. "Do you honestly even want to be on this date with me?" She asked.
He opened his mouth to reply but she cut him off, "You know what? If you didn't want to be on this date, you could've just said so. Listen, I really really like you and I thought this would work but you can't even look at me when I speak or even keep a decent conversation. Am I not what you want? Because if not, I'm sorry I'm not those models that would fight to even be in the same room as you." She said, getting straight to the point.
Stephen looked at her, sighing. "Look, Taylor. There's a reason I'm acting this way and believe it or not, I'm actually nervous to be on this date." He started, answering honestly.
Nervous? Was she hearing correcting? The NBA All-Star Stephen Curry was nervous to be on a date?
Taylor nodded, as if telling him to go on. "The reason I'm nervous is because I actually really like you. I haven't been on a date in a while since my divorce with my ex-wife, so it's something new to me. But I promise you that I actually do like you. I do like you, and I do wanna be on this date with you. I'll be honest in saying that I always want to have other dates with you."
Taylor couldn't help but smile, and also feel embarassed that she went off on him like that. "Well... I'm sorry for going off on you like that, Steph."
He chuckled, before shaking his head. "Nah, don't be. I kind of do deserve it. But, I was wondering if you'd be up for another date, and I promise that on the next date I'll change my attitude in a positive way. And another thing, how would you like to be... my girlfriend on the second date?" He asked.
Taylor looked at him, trying to make sure that she wasn't dreaming or anything. Did she really just get asked out by Stephen Curry?
"Actually Steph, I'd love to go on another date with you and I'd love to be your girlfriend," She answered with a smile.
Boy was she was never going to hear the end of this from her best friend Andre...
