Jennie felt an unpleasant jolt in her chest, followed by a spilling poisonous feeling. Her eyebrows drew together at the bridge of her nose and she held her phone with both hands, reading the messages from Rose.

-What's wrong?- Lisa asked a little worriedly, sitting next to her friend.

Jennie is silent for a moment, and then, clearing her throat, replies huskily:

-The girl Rose is with today is her ex-fiancée. - The brown-haired girl clarifies, still keeping her gaze on the chat room.

-What?- Taehyung joined in, sitting on the other side of his friend, inertia dipping his gaze into Jennie's phone.

-Damn, she was engaged? - The gears in Lisa's head are starting to turn, but with a squeak.

Jennie slowly begins to realize Lisa's words and now it's unclear how to react to all this. The first thought is that Rose is definitely single, and the second thought is that she was in a serious relationship that almost ended in marriage, and that says a lot. So that girl is very dear to Rose, if they still have such a warm relationship. The next thought is why the relationship ended, but Jennie tries to put it out of her mind and not think about it, realizing that it would be better if Rose told her about it.

-Is it okay that she's basically saying this to Jennie?- Taehyung's brain is turning on now, too, looking back and forth at Jennie and Lisa.

Both girls turned their heads toward the guy, and their looks were both frowning and incomprehensible now. Then the meaning of it all began to reach Jennie, too.

-Jennie.- Lisa touches her fingers to her friend's face and turns her around.- Do you understand? She's giving you the green light now.

-I understand.- Slowly the girl replies and, sighing, turns her gaze back to the chat room.- I'm just a little shocked. Do you realize that she was in a serious relationship with the girl she was almost married to?! What if they still love each other? Maybe they're trying to start over or, uh....

-Jennie, are you serious?- Lisa's trying to figure out if her friend is being serious.- If she was trying to get back together with her ex, she'd ignore you and not say anything at all. She's revealing part of her past to you, that's usually what people do who want to get things going with a new person, you know?

She spells out the last sentence almost syllabically, like a child explaining the obvious.

-Jennie, why don't you reply to her message?- Taehyung reminds , looking at her friend's phone, which she's been keeping unanswered like this for a couple minutes now.

Jennie: You were engaged?

-God. - Lisa clucks her tongue, rolling her eyes. - What else do you think they were doing?

-I don't know what to say in a situation like this!- Jennie throws up her hand, then rubs her forehead with her fingers.- Fuck, I'm sweating...

Rose: Yeah, but we broke up four years ago)

-Four years?- Taehyung and Lisa said almost in unison, staring at their friend's phone.

Jennie: Whoa

Jennie: But why?

Rose: I think it's better to discuss this kind of thing in a different way))

-You've created intrigue, and now we have to think!- Lisa muttered, folding her arms across her chest and leaning back on the back of the bench.

-Jennie, but you do realize that your liking is mutual?- Taehyung clarifies, looking at his focused friend.- It's true!
