KGOMOTSO
She throws herself on the couch and lets out a huge and heavy sigh and I just sit here and watch her with a smile on my face.
"What a day!" She exclaims with a heavy sigh.
Kgomotso: "And where were you, Ms Ketshabile?"
"Girl, I had to drive all the way to Pretoria to plan my best friend's surprise proposal."
Kgomotso: "Pretoria? Lebone…"
Lebone: "Skeem, I was lied to. This guy said he was in Joburg with his brother, turns out he was in Pretoria and his excuse was that I was going to turn down the offer if he said he was at Pretoria at first. As if I was going to say no to my best friend finally getting married."
I can't help but laugh at his whole situation. Especially with the way she narrated it.
Kgomotso: "Ncooh! Congratulations to her, man."
Lebone: "But to lie to me, though?" I chuckle.
Just then, her phone rings.
At first she sounded and looked confused, until she looked at me and said "Oooh! Okay! No, no I hear you."
Okay?? What could this be about?
Lebone: "Thank you. I'll definitely be there on Saturday. Okay, bye."
Kgomotso: "And then?" I ask her once she puts her phone down.
Lebone: "Nothing." She says with a smirk.
Kgomotso: "Mm. Nothing, huh?"
Lebone: "Yeah!! Girl, don't worry about it."
I don't know, but there is something beating the water.
RELEBOGILE
"I'm sorry I'm a bit late today." I say to her once I've accompanied her to the car.
"I really thought I was going to catch a taxi this time." She says chuckling.
Relebogile: "No, Ma. Don't ever think of catching a taxi from now on."
She looks shocked.
Tshegofatso: "Ruri (Really)?"
Relebogile: "Yah."
Tshegofatso: "Well then, thank you."
I start the engine and we get going.
Tshegofatso: "You know, sometime I want to invite you into my home. I'd also like you to meet my daughters." She says with a smile on her face as we reach closer to her house.
Relebogile: "We can even go now." I offer.
Tshegofatso: "No, it's too early."
Relebogile: "I insist, Ma."
Tshegofatso: "But what will Onalerona say?"
Relebogile: "Ma, I told you that he died."
Tshegofatso: "Oh." She says sounding feint. "I am so sorry about that, ngwa-- Relebogile."
Why did she change?
Relebogile: "No, it's okay, Ma."
Tshegofatso: "Eish, Relebogile. Yes, I know that you are my child because you are the spitting image of Onalerona and he gave you the name I planned to give you, but you've been missing for 26 years."
Relebogile: "You counted?"
Tshegofatso: "Every year on the 15th of March, I'd always count how old you'd be turning."
