TLHALEFO
03 OCTOBER, 2021
We're here in the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens. Just us as a family going out and doing family things, I guess.
At least it was after church and I could convince Ma to bring my boy, Samkelo along because I knew I was going to be bored.
I love Tumi and Titi and Lefika and Nkanyezi, but I also needed someone who I could relate to since Mo is busy becoming a lawyer.
We're here with Papa Rele and MaLebone too and I guess it's just a chilled day with us doing chilled things.
It would have been nicer if Thando could come too, but she didn't want.
I know my girlfriend to be a very indoors person but I think it's the whole idea of her being with my family that kind of made her uncomfortable which I totally understood.
But it's not like Ma and Uncle Simps are intimidating people and plus MaLebone is just as nice.
As I'm about to start the fire for the braai with Sam, I feel my phone vibrating in my pockets.
Tlhalefo: "Yo Sam. Please start the fire for me. I have to take this call."
Samkelo: "Sho boy."
I move a slight distance back and take my phone out.
It's Thando.
Tlhalefo: "Hey." I answer.
Thando: "Dude, my period is four weeks late."
Sorry?
My whole body is frozen.
Samkelo: "Lefo, dude. What's up?"
Oh no...
