Health: Typically healthy but prone to dislocated kneecaps, blood disorder (Factor VII deficiency), liver disease, cataracts, heart murmurs, skin issues, and ear infections.
Barking: Often howl and bark.
Environment: Best in homes without shared homes (not apartments and town homes) because of their barking.

Family Friendly? Yes, but they are best around older children. They are typically good around other dogs. Owners need to be careful if they are smaller pets like rodents, reptiles, and birds because of the breed's hunting instincts.
