Origins: 1970s and 80s Alaska. They started by mixing Alaskan huskies and Siberian huskies.

Weight: 16-25 lbs (standard), 10-18 lbs (miniture), 6-12 lbs (toy)

Height: 38-44 cm (standard), 33-38 cm (miniture), 33 cm (toy)

Lifespan: 12-16 years regardless of size

Coat: Smooth and thick fur that is double coated. They shed often.

Colors: White, gray and white, black and white, red and white.

Tail: A fluffy, long tail that curls.

Ears: Pointy

Health: Typically healthy but prone to dislocated kneecaps, blood disorder (Factor VII deficiency), liver disease, cataracts, heart murmurs, skin issues, and ear infections.

Barking: Often howl and bark.

Environment: Best in homes without shared homes (not apartments and town homes) because of their barking.

Popularity: Rare

Family Friendly? Yes, but they are best around older children. They are typically good around other dogs. Owners need to be careful if they are smaller pets like rodents, reptiles, and birds because of the breed's hunting instincts.

Training: Moderately difficult. They may be sensitive to harsh tones.

Care: Require active owners and regular bathing for their sensitive skin.
