Y/N's POV

The familiar scent of parchment and freshly brewed tea greeted me as I stepped into the cozy confines of home. Remus had already started tidying up the sitting room, probably to distract himself from his own thoughts. I set my trunk by the door, sighing with relief and nostalgia.

"Welcome back, kiddo," Remus said with a soft smile, pulling me into a warm hug.

"Thanks, Remus. It's good to be back."

We settled on the worn-out sofa by the fireplace, and he handed me a cup of tea, the steam curling up lazily into the air.

He handed me a cup of tea, sitting across from me with a thoughtful look. "Now, I know I got your letters, but I want to hear everything. What happened after I left Hogwarts?"

I smiled softly. "You already know about Draco."

"Of course," Remus said, a hint of amusement in his tone. "But I want to know the details. How did things go after the... ah, Astronomy Tower incident?"

I felt my cheeks heat up. "It was... complicated. Harry found out, and it didn't go well at first. He's protective, you know that."

Remus nodded, his expression understanding. "He gets that from your parents. James would've been the same."

I sighed. "It's been a rollercoaster. Draco's family has been interfering, and it's been hard for him. And for us."

Remus's brow furrowed. "Lucius?"

I nodded, biting my lip. "He sent Draco a letter threatening to involve you and Harry. It's been a lot to handle, but we've made it through. I love him, Remus."

His expression softened, though his concern was evident. "I believe you. And I know you're strong, Y/N. But you must promise me that you'll stay cautious. Draco's family is dangerous."

"I know," I whispered. "But Draco isn't like them. He's trying to be better."

Remus reached over and gave my hand a reassuring squeeze. "I trust your judgment. Just... promise you'll come to me if anything feels wrong. Deal?"

"Deal," I said, relief washing over me.

Upstairs

I carried my trunk up to my room, savoring the familiarity of the space. My childhood photos still lined the walls, and my bed was neatly made with my favorite quilt. As I opened my trunk to start unpacking, I froze.

"Surprise!"

I jumped, letting out a startled laugh as Harry, Ron, and Hermione emerged from behind the door.

"What are you three doing here?" I asked, my heart racing.

Harry shrugged, an uncharacteristic grin on his face. "Remus thought it would be a good idea for us to spend the summer here... you know, to make up for lost time."

Hermione nodded. "We wanted to surprise you! You didn't think we'd let you have all the fun, did you?"

Ron was already sprawled on my bed, looking far too comfortable. "And this place is much nicer than the Burrow," he joked, earning a playful shove from Hermione.

I felt a lump form in my throat as I looked at them, their presence making the weight of the past year feel a little lighter. "You guys are the best."

Harry's POV

Sitting in Y/N's home felt... strange. It was cozy, quiet, and filled with memories I didn't share. But it felt right being here, even if the tension between us hadn't fully disappeared.

Y/N seemed lighter today, laughing with Hermione and teasing Ron. I wanted to talk to her—really talk—but I wasn't sure where to start.

"You okay, mate?" Ron asked, nudging me as we headed out for a walk.

"Yeah," I said, though my tone didn't convince even me.

Ron gave me a skeptical look but didn't press.

Y/N's POV – Later That Day

After a day of exploring the nearby park and grabbing ice cream at a local shop, we returned home, the sun setting behind us. Harry, Ron, and Hermione disappeared into the living room, leaving me to sit on the porch with Remus.

"Feeling better?" he asked, handing me a glass of lemonade.

I nodded. "Yeah. Today was... nice."

He smiled, his gaze thoughtful. "Good. You deserve nice things, Y/N. Just don't forget to let people in, okay? Even the stubborn ones."

I smiled back, understanding his unspoken words. "I won't."

For the first time in weeks, I felt like I could breathe again. But in the back of my mind, I couldn't help but wonder what the rest of the summer—and my relationship with Draco—would hold.
