Y/N's POV
Draco's room in the Slytherin dorms was dimly lit, the green and silver decor casting an eerie yet comforting glow. The fire crackled softly in the hearth, its warmth contrasting the cool stone walls. I sat on the edge of his neatly made bed, my heart heavy with the weight of Snape's warning. Across the room, Draco paced back and forth, his movements restless and agitated.
"We can't keep doing this, Y/N," he said, his voice taut with frustration. His hands ran through his platinum hair, disheveling it in a way that made my heart ache for him even more. "Snape's right. If my father finds out we're still together...he'll..."
He didn't finish, but he didn't need to. The unspoken threat of Lucius Malfoy loomed over us like a dark cloud.
"I don't care about your father," I said, standing up. My voice was firm, though my hands trembled at my sides. "I care about you. About us."
"And that's exactly why we have to stop this!" he snapped, spinning to face me. His gray eyes burned with a mixture of anger and desperation as he crossed the room in three long strides. His hands gripped my shoulders, not hard, but enough to make me feel the intensity of his emotions. "I won't let him hurt you, Y/N. Or Potter. I can't."
His words were like a punch to the gut, knocking the wind out of me. I wanted to fight him, to tell him we could find another way, but deep down, I knew he was right.
Before I could respond, a knock on the door interrupted us. It creaked open, and Pansy Parkinson sauntered in, her ever-present smirk plastered on her face.
"Well, isn't this cozy," she drawled, her gaze flicking between Draco and me. "Trouble in paradise?"
Draco groaned, releasing me. "Pansy, this isn't the time—"
"Oh, but it is," she interrupted, closing the door behind her. She leaned against it, her arms crossed. "I couldn't help but overhear your little... predicament. Lucky for you, I have a solution."
I glared at her, my fists clenching at my sides. "What could you possibly offer that would help us?"
Ignoring me entirely, she turned to Draco. "It's simple. If you don't want people sniffing around your relationship, make them believe there isn't one. And the best way to do that is misdirection."
"Misdirection?" Draco repeated, raising an eyebrow.
Pansy smiled sweetly, though the glint in her eyes was anything but kind. "You and I pretend to be a couple. It'll throw everyone off your trail. And Y/N," she said, finally looking at me, "you could get closer to Diggory. Rita Skeeter's article already hinted at it. Why not use it to your advantage?"
I felt like I'd been slapped. "Absolutely not."
But Draco turned to me, his expression conflicted. "Y/N..."
"No, Draco," I said, shaking my head. "I won't do it. I won't let her—"
"It's the only way," he said softly, cutting me off. His voice was pained, and his eyes begged me to understand.
After a long moment, I sighed, my shoulders slumping. "Fine. If it's what we have to do, then fine."
Draco turned back to Pansy. "But there are rules," he said firmly. "No kissing, no touching, minimal contact. We only act like a couple when people are around. Got it?"
"Got it," Pansy said, though her smug smile suggested she had her own agenda.
"Good," Draco snapped. "Now get out."
Pansy pouted but left without another word, closing the door behind her.
As soon as she was gone, Draco turned to me, his face softening. "I hate this," he murmured, stepping closer. His hands cupped my face, his thumb brushing against my cheek.
"I do too," I whispered, leaning into his touch. "But it's the only way to keep you safe. To keep Harry safe."
His jaw tightened, and a low growl escaped his throat. Without warning, he pulled me into a kiss, his lips crashing against mine with a fiery intensity.
I melted into him, my hands tangling in his hair as he deepened the kiss. His hands slid down my back, pulling me closer until there wasn't an inch of space between us.
He pulled back just enough to look into my eyes, his own filled with a mix of desire and determination. "If we're going to do this, I need you to know something," he said, his voice husky. "You're mine. No matter what facade we put up, no matter what anyone else thinks, you're mine."
"Always," I promised, my breath hitching as his lips trailed down my neck, leaving a trail of heat in their wake.
He gently guided me backward until my legs bumped against the edge of his bed. Without breaking the kiss, he lifted me effortlessly, laying me down on the soft green comforter. His body hovered over mine, his hands framing my face as his lips moved against mine with a mix of tenderness and hunger.
His hands began to explore, sliding beneath my sweater and brushing against my skin. The warmth of his touch sent shivers down my spine. His lips followed the curve of my neck, leaving a trail of gentle bites and kisses that made me gasp.
"Draco," I whispered, my voice trembling with a mixture of anticipation and nervousness.
He paused, his gray eyes searching mine. "Tell me to stop," he said softly, his voice laced with concern.
"Don't stop," I said, pulling him closer.
His lips found mine again, more insistent this time, as his hands continued to roam. Time seemed to blur as we lost ourselves in each other. Every kiss, and every touch was filled with a raw, unspoken need that left me breathless.
Draco's kisses grew more fervent, his hands sliding down my waist as he pressed me further into the mattress. My fingers found the hem of his shirt, tugging it upward. He helped me remove it, tossing it aside before returning his attention to me.
For what felt like hours, we stayed entwined, exploring our depths. It was more than just physical; it was a desperate attempt to hold onto each other despite the world trying to pull us apart.
Finally, as the fire in the hearth began to die down, Draco pulled me into his arms, his breathing steadying as he pressed a soft kiss to my temple. "We'll get through this," he murmured.
I nodded, resting my head against his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat
