"Let me just warn you, that I've only been kayaking once in my life." I warned Margo while I pushed my kayak into the water.
"It's really easy just paddle, and don't lean to either side too much, or else you'll tip."
"Ok." I said, my voice shaky. I sat down in my kayak and Margo pushed me into the river. I started to paddle. I started going backwards. Then, I started to panic.
"Margo!" I yelled.
"What?" She said turning her head to me.
"I'm going backwards!" I shouted.
"DONT PANICK!" She hollered, "I'll help you in a minute." she continued, adjusting her position. She turned around to look at me. She started laughing.
"First off, why are you wearing that ridiculous life vest?" She asked between laughs, pointing at my orange life jacket.
"Um because I don't want to drown."
"You're not going to drown!" She said, laughing harder, "it's only ankle deep, the deepest it goes is waist deep."
"Yeah, I'm not really a good swimmer."
"Whatever. Second of all, you're holding your paddle backwards, and upside down." she said putting emphasis on "and."
"Right." I said flipping the paddle so I was holding it correctly.
"And third of all, the biggest rule, which somehow I forgot to tell you, is DONT PANICK!" I sighed and paddled fast. I wanted to catch up to her. When I finally caught up to her, she just focused on the river.
"Hey you made it up."
"Sure did." I said, trying to sound confident.
"Well, let's see if you can keep up."
"You're on." she started to paddle faster, I followed paddling faster and faster. I paddled so fast, that I actually beat her. Well, I was beating her till I ran into a tree in an attempt to go under it. When I made it past the tree I took a deep breath, I looked down at my slightly damp jeans to notice they were covered in spiders. The spiders were as wide as three of my fingers and legs as long as my index finger. I screamed so loud, I'm pretty sure the whole world could hear. I flipped right out of the kayak. When I came up from under water, Margo was just as wet as me.
"What the heck!" She yelled.
"There were like forty wolf spiders covering my legs."
"Instead of giving me a heart attack, you could've just yelled ' Margo there are like, forty wolf spiders covering my legs please help me,' so that neither of us would be wet right now!"
"Sorry."
"Well you should be." she climbed back into her kayak and continued to paddle down the river. I checked my pants to make sure there were no more spiders. Then, I checked my kayak. As I climbed back in, I took deep breaths to steady my heartbeat.

"That was really fun." Margo commented, pulling her kayak onto the bank.
"Yeah except that I almost got eaten alive by spiders."
"Yeah that was pretty bad." she commented, "so, ice cream?"
"That sounds really good right now."
