When I got out of the shower, I opened my computer to video chat Ben.
"Hey bro." he said.
"Hey."
"Still with that honeybunny Margo."
"Don't call her a honeybunny."
"Whatever, hey are you still with Lacey?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Why was she at her house last week?"
"I think she was in town for her mom's birthday."
"Oh ok, where does she go to school again?"
"Dartmouth."
"Wow, ok cool."
"Hey why did you call."
"Just to check up on you. You know, just being a good friend."
"Ok whatever, hey did you call Radar yet?"
"No, why?"
"Yeah, he got a job."
"Wow, really?"
"Yeah he...." but I didn't listen to the end of Ben's sentence because the bathroom door opened. Margo came out wearing her pajamas, purple pants with pink hearts and a pink tank top.
"Hey, who are you video chatting?" she asked.
"Ben." I responded.
"Gross."
"Hey I heard that!" Ben yelled from the computer.
"Whatever Bloody Ben, nobody even-" I cut her off by mouthing "I've got to go." to Ben and closing the computer.
"Why are you even friends with that loser?"
"Neither of us had any other friends, minus radar, and we just settled on each other. Oh, and also, he doesn't like being called bloody Ben."
"Whatever. I'm tired."
"Me too," I stood up to brush my teeth, and nonchalantly walked to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and came out of the bathroom not much later. I came out and Margo was on the phone, she didn't see me come out of the bathroom.
"No I don't care what you think, I don't want to get back together."
She paused to listen to the voice on the other line.
"You freakin' cheated on me why would I want to take you back!"
After she said that, I knew exactly who she was talking to. It was Jase. I felt bad for eavesdropping, but I wanted to hear what she was gonna say.
"Listen I don't care that Becca cheated on you, that's great, now you know how I feel.... Oh my God, I just realized something, you just want to take me back to make Becca jealous. Oh my God you are such a jerk. I don't want anything to do with you ever again. You know, I was starting to feel a little bad for what I did to you but now I don't feel bad at all."
She paused for a moment to listen again.
"How did you not know it was me, I left a big blue M on the back of your door."
Once again, she paused.
"You know what, I'm done, don't ever call me again because I can guarantee you, you will regret it. Goodbye." She said hanging up. She sighed and flopped onto her bed. She sighed loudly. Clearly wanting attention. I acted like I didn't really know anything.
"Why the huge sigh?"
"Jase called."
"Why?"
"He wanted to get back together."
"But didn't he realize we were the ones who ruined his life?"
"Apparently not. God, he's such an idiot."
"Yeah."
"Well, goodnight!"
"Goodnight." I said, laying down onto my bed and rolling onto my side.
