The memorial service was nice. Her parents didn't have a funeral because they didn't have the right to her body yet. They set a picture of her up. One of her senior pictures, I remember it on our fridge when her parents gave it to mine. I loved the picture, it captured the perfectness of who she really was. The picture was framed and had 2 vanilla scented candles on either side. Her parents were sobbing, and so was Ruthie. Many people showed up, but no one was crying harder than I was. Her parents talked about her suicide, how she performed it, without getting into to many details, and why. They said she was depressed, but they were wrong. I was given a chance to speak, having known Margo best in her last year on earth. Lacey spoke right after her parents then, it was my turn. I got up to the podium, and spoke from my heart:"Today we are here to celebrate Margo's life. It's what she would've wanted. She would not have wanted all of us crying over her. But we can't help it. Margo was a bit rebellious, she never likes the rules. It wasn't her thing. Neither was life. Margo's ideal life was to live freely without ever having to start a life. She wanted to be free. But she couldn't, because life and family and popularity were holding her down. Her life was like none of us could ever imagine. We all looked at Margo and saw who and what we wanted to see, but in reality we never saw who she really was. No one did. It's all she ever wanted, was to be free and to be understood."
Everyone clapped and cried. Ruthie sang a song dedicated to Margo, and the service was over. I was determined to say hello to everyone, hear what they thought of my eulogy. As soon as I had gotten through everyone, I noticed one person I hadn't spoken to. A blonde girl with a good covering her face. I had never seen her at Margo's house. When the room emptied, I decided to go up and introduce myself and see how she knew Margo. I approached her quietly. She didn't look up. I came up to her extended my hand and said "I'm Quentin Jacobsen, and you are?" The girl kept her head down. She took off the hood, and the blonde hair, which apparently was a wig. She girl lifted her head.
It was Margo.END
