"How much longer!" Margo whined.
"Hey, you were the one who begged me to take the drive to New York."
"At least what state are we in?"
"South Carolina."
"Isn't Duke in South Carolina?"
"No, North Carolina."
"Weren't you supposed to go to college at Duke?"
"Yeah...."
"When I found you, you weren't at Duke though."
"Um yeah, I was."
"Really?"
"Really."
"Wow I didn't realize how long we've been driving."
"Probably forty-eight hours total."
"Oh wow."
"Yeah, and speaking of driving, I have to stop for gas."
"Ok." I pulled up into the nearest BP.
"I'll go in and pay, you pump the gas." Margo said to me.
"We're at pump four."
"Ok." Margo said, as she walked into the store. As the gas pumped, I washed the windows of the car. Margo came out of the store with two mountain dews and two bags of combos.
"Ok, you finish pumping the gas, and I'll run in and use the bathroom." I said, walking away from the pump.
"Um excuse me, where is the bathroom?"
"In the back." she said, pointing to the back.
"Thanks," I said running to the bathroom."How much did the gas cost?" I asked, sitting down in the drivers spot.
"Fifty dollars." she replied.
"Ok let's get back on the road." I said, pulling out of the gas station, "What time is it?" I continued.
"Nine forty-five."
"Ok, by this rate we'll be in North Carolina in the morning."
"Excellent. The faster we get there the better.""Margo wake up. We're in North Carolina." I said shaking Margo awake.
"What?" She asked, rubbing her eyes.
"We're in North Carolina."
"Oh. Ok. What time is it?"
"Eight-nineteen in the morning."
"Jesus kid, why'd you wake me up so early?"
"I'm six month older than you."
"No one cares."
"I do."
"One person cares, anyways,"
"What I was trying to say was indeed a shower."
"Ooh, that's sounds nice."
"Hotel?"
"Or how bout your dorm room."
"What?"
"Duke is in North Carolina, let's stop by your dorm and shower."
"If it saves us a few hundred bucks..... sure."
"K, let's go." she said, climbing back up to the passengers seat.
"You're driving. I'm sleeping."
"Nonononono."
"Yes." I said. She sighed, and I knew I had won.
