She had got caught in a fox trap and broken her leg, and Fuyutori had found her when playing with Moriko.
Fuya san had wanted to keep her as a pet, but of course she objected.
So, they took her home to heal until her leg was better. It was dangerous to turn back until after it was better, so she didn't. She didn't tell them, either.
So she just showed up one day, and was like, "so, I didn't have to tell you I was actually human, blah blah blah."
Fortunately or unfortunately, they accepted her because they could change too.
