Adamson-Voire Series #1
Punk Princess of WestChapter 13
Farrah
This week’s a busy week, midterms na namin next week kaya puspusan ang pagre-review ko para makapasa. I barely passed my previous exams, and I cannot let myself commit the same mistake.
I already deactivated all of my social media accounts para makapagfocus ako nang maigi sa mga kailangan kong basahin.
I hissed.
“One step at a time.” Pumasok si Fallen sa kwarto ko.
“Alam ko, Kuya.” I replied.
“Stop pressuring yourself.” He said.
“I’m not.”
Stenography is the major course of our program— office administration. We study a different kind of alphabet far from the english alphabet— the shorthand.
I was busy fidgeting the pen out of stress when I suddenly heard my phone ringing.
West Ybrahim calling...
Answer Decline
I pressed the “answer” button and he spoke.
“Did you block me?” He asked.
“I deactivated my social media accounts, Ybrahim.”
“Ybrahim?” Muli nitong tanong sa akin, tila nagtataka sa first name basis.
Sus, akala mo ‘di sanay eh.
“Why?” Tanong ko rito.
“What happened to West?”
I found myself smiling after hearing that. “Alam mo, you better prepare for the midterm examination.” Pagbabago ko sa usapan.
“It hurts that you doubt my capabilities.” He acted hurt.
“I’m actually not. It’s just that— you’re disturbing me. Kailangan ko magreview, hindi niyo naman ako kasing-talino. Sorry, bopols lang.” I laughed.
“You’re not, and please stop calling yourself stupid.” He replied.
“I was just joking.”
“Stop tiring yourself out, Farrah. May bukas pa, it’s already four a.m.” Ybrahim said.
“Baka makalimutan ko na bukas ang nirereview ko, West.” It’s true, I have a short-term memory that makes it difficult for me to remember things.
“Next week pa naman ang midterms, you still have plenty of time. I’ll help you.” He replied assuring me.
“I’m fine by myself, West. Don’t worry.” Saad ko.
“May gusto ka bang kainin? Inumin?” He worriedly asked me.
“Wala, West. Just give yourself a rest as well.” Sambit ko rito.
