I waited patiently in my car, my thumb grazing over Jungkook's phone number. I had been contemplating if I should call and tell him what I had been doing, considering he already thought I was sneaky, but I didn't want to feel the rejection of him not responding out of anger. I sighed, stuffing my phone into my hoodie pockets before resting back into the car seat.
I looked outside the car window, seeing Darron walking up to the spot in the park we agreed on, the boy taking a seat on a nearby park bench. I took a deep breath, mentally reminding myself of the reason I was even there before getting out of the car.
I walked through the moist, but warm, March air. The soft, sloshing sound of wet cement sounding beneath my feet as I finally approached the boy."Hi," I said to Darron, "We need to talk."
Darron released a breath of smoke from his mouth as he stood to his feet, cracking an insincere smile as he looked back at me through glossy, red eyes. "Yeah, we do," He snarled between his lips, his gaze heavy and intense, "I'm shocked you didn't bring your boyfriend." I sighed, the boy already getting underneath my skin. I hated when he mentioned him in any capacity.
"This isn't about my boyfriend, it's about you and me," I said, walking up on the boy with a distasteful look on my face, "And how you calling and texting me is gonna ruin my relationship. So, I'm here to tell you to stop. Can you just say what you have to say now, you know, get it over and done with?"
"Mmcht," Darron stated as he sucked his teeth, his lips forming a nasty snarl, "Got a nigga thinking you brought me out hea' to talk about something serious, but you bothering me 'bout your fragile ass relationship wit' ole boy?"
I sighed, stuffing my hands in my pockets and shaking my head as I checked my side view, hoping no one was watching. "Look," I responded, turning back to the boy, "I'm sorry we didn't work out, and I never gave you the proper closure. You're a good guy, and I didn't need to do that to you, so I apologize. However, what is ruining my relationship going to do? What is it going to fix?" Darron, as if he didn't take me the slightest bit serious, scoffed and looked off as he took another hit of his pen.
I sighed, cracking my neck a little before looking at him. "If you cared about me, or at least care about me like you claim you do? You'd respect this decision," I pleaded with him, feeling so pathetic for begging someone to leave my relationship alone, "I love him, Darron. I really do. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to love you, and I know that must suck to hear, but-–" As I spoke, I noticed Darron's lack of attention, the boy inhaling and exhaling that toxic waste into his lungs, only frustrating me more as I attempted to mediate the situation.
"Hello?" I said, snapping my hands in front of his face and making the boy give his attention back to me, "Do you hear me? I'm speaking to you."
Darron, finally facing me, grinned a cheeky and smug-like grin. "You look good," The boy said as he exhaled out a small hole he formed in the corner of his mouth, "You getting a lil' chunky, I fuck with it." I groaned, the compliment only making matters worse for me. I had already been somewhere I shouldn't have been, and despite my intentions, I knew if Jungkook was aware, it'd only fuel his fire. After Jungkook and I's conversation earlier tonight, I thought it was the right thing to cut the boy off completely.
