As class ended, I gathered my things with a heavy heart. I hadn't spoken to Jungkook since last night, allowing my phone to go to voicemail each time he called. I didn't want to ignore him, but for the time being, it was the best thing to do considering I didn't have many nice things to say to him. I couldn't sleep last night, my mind thinking of the potential possibility that when I left, she came in. The potential possibility of me leaving instead of communicating pushed him right back into her arms, but I pushed the thoughts aside and forced myself to at least get a few hours of sleep. As I packed my bag, going to slide my phone into its side pocket, I noticed one of my mechanical pencils roll off the desk's polished wooden surface.
"Really?" I asked, feeling like it was just the cherry on top of my bad day. I sighed, lowering myself down, holding my skirt to my rear as I attempted to grab the pencil, but it was retrieved by someone else. "You dropped something," The mysterious masculine voice said, making me look up to see Darron's smug smile. I chuckled, standing to my feet, and allowing the boy to hand it to me. "I didn't notice," I joked back as I took hold of the writing utensil, "Thank you."
Darron hummed, sliding his hands in his pants as I grabbed my bookbag, tossing it over my shoulder. "How've you been?" The boy asked me suddenly, making me look back at him with a slightly confused but amused expression before turning away to continue walking, him following close behind me. "I'm doing well," I said as we exited the lecture hall, the boy approaching my side, "How are you?"
"Better now," He said, looking down at his feet before looking at me. I looked at him, scoffing at his naturally flirtatious nature before shaking my head. "Sorry, I couldn't help myself," He admitted, making me nod as he walked up beside me. "Jungkook and I are still together," I finally said, "So, you know, help yourself." Darron chuckled at my snarky comment before nodding, "Noted." I hummed in response, hearing my phone ring again, sighing at the familiar ringtone.
I reached my arm behind me to my side pocket, pulling the small metal box out and sighing as Jungkook's contact name flooded across my screen. I watched it for a moment until it hung up, and then I slid it back into the pocket of my book bag. "Trouble in paradise?" Darron asked me. I side-eyed him before clicking my tongue, "You're quite nosey, aren't you?"
"Nah," He spoke boldly as we made our way out of the building and into the lecture hall, "Just hopeful."
Though I was flattered, I turned to him with my arms crossed over my chest and a nasty glare on my face. "Me and Jungkook are fine," I retorted to his snarky remarks, "We're great, no troubles. You know, not that I owe you an explanation or anything, but I'm entitled to not want to talk to him all the time. Okay? Is that okay with you?" Darron shrugged, his eyes scanning me over before he eventually met my eyes, "Yes ma'am, I hear you loud and clear." I rolled my eyes, turning around in hopes he'd walk away but he continued to walk with me.
