Do Kyungsoo. Those two words made your heart melt. He was the sweetest and cutest boy you've ever met. He was kind, smart, funny, handsome... He was perfect and you were so in love with him. He was everything you were looking for in a boy. You were in the same high school but not in the same class. You only coincided with his class in PE. He was kind of clumsy for sports but it only made him look even cuter. He was popular among girls but he never had a girlfriend before; not that you knew at least. He was quite shy with girls actually; he got nervous around them and stuttered a little. Such a cutie! But he was different with you. Maybe because you were his friend or maybe because he wasn't interested in you. You wanted to believe that he just felt comfortable with you. That was why you never told him what you felt for him. You weren't sure if he liked you back. He never showed any signs or told you about any girl. What was happening in his mind was a total mystery for you. You weren't shy at all. You were outspoken, inappropriate and always said what you thought but he kind of blocked you. You weren't able to be yourself around him. You turned into a sweet, silly girl every time he was around.

If you would have notice the slightest sign that he liked you back, you would have asked him out a long time ago if it wasn't for one single person. Kim Jongin or Kai, how he liked everybody to call him, was Kyungsoo's best friend and your worst nightmare. He was the devil! You didn't know how they became friends; they were so different. While Kyungsoo was so gentle and nice, Kai was rude, mean and impulsive. He was making your life miserable. He even said once that you had crabs. The rumor spread quickly and surprisingly everybody believed him. How can you even have crabs if you never had sex? But he seemed to be like that only with you. Everybody liked and respected him and girls... He never had an official girlfriend like Kyungsoo, but he was known for having slept with half of the girls in our high school, besides girls from other high schools and even college. You couldn't understand what girls saw on him. Alright, he was quite handsome and had a hot body but he was an asshole. He only used girls. Didn't they know that? Or maybe they didn't care.

The sad part was that you and Kai used to be best friends when you were kids. He wasn't like that back then. Actually, he was the opposite he was now. He was so kind and sweet. You used to think he made the sun shine every time he smiled. Then one day, he said he hated you and didn't want to know anything about you. You were fifteen. It was two years ago. During those two years he's been torturing you. You didn't know what happen to make him change like that; you never did anything to him. For God' shake, he was your first love. You never dated or anything but you always followed him like a lost puppy. Wasn't it obvious that you like him? Maybe that was the reason why he acted like that. You've been thinking about that a lot. He probably didn't like you back and the only way he found to fight against that was pushing you out. You couldn't believe that bastard was your first kiss. If you could have come back to when you were eight, you were had kicked his balls. How much you wished to do that at that moment too. Your life could be summarized in two words: unilateral love. Before you met Jongin, you liked a boy that used to go with you to piano classes. You were five and still too innocent to know about love, so you confessed and he broke your heart. Jongin also broke your heart but in the cruelest possible way and then Kyungsoo... Third time's a charm, that what they say.

You went to the school gym for your PE class in good mood. In your mind only was a thing: Kyungsoo wearing shorts. You thanked God it was almost summer holidays and you could see him all sweaty. It might sound weird but sweating boys turned you on. Everything was fine until you remembered Kai would be there too. He spent the week very quiet, he didn't speak to you in any way and you were suspicious. Last week he 'accidentally' spilled a paint bucket when he was painting the porch with his father. Did you mention you were neighbors? Yes, it was great. How could he spill the paint accidentally? You were in your own porch sunbathing and the paint bathed you instead. He threw it at you. His father was furious and his shouts were heard even when they got inside of the house. Maybe that made him refrain a little. He respected his father so much and so did you. Since your own father died in an accident when you were ten, he always treated you as his daughter. Your mother was a nurse and worked at night a lot, so you spent most of the time alone. Jongin's parents were friends with your mother and they used to invite you both to dinner often. But since you and Jongin weren't friends, they stopped doing it. You really missed those dinners. But Jongin wanted you around so...

"Aren't you excited?", your friend Subin asked you. "You're going to see your Kyungsoo", she continued. She was cheerful and she liked boys too much, if you know what I mean. She had a different boyfriend each week. "You have to confess before summer holidays or someone could make a move before you", she said.

"I don't know if he likes me back", you replied.

"That's why you have to ask him. You'll never know if you don't ask. Besides, he looks at your butt every time he walks behind you", she said.

"Really?", you asked surprised.

"No, but your face was epic", she replied. "The one that looks at your buttis Kai, actually", she continued.

"Yes, sure. I'm not going to fall for it this time", you replied.

"I'm serious! I realized he looks at you a lot", she replied.

"He probably looks at my butt to kick it", you said.

You kept talking and laughing until the teacher called you to form two groups. You were going to play dodgeball and, much to your regret, Kai wasn't in your team, which meant you were going to be his target. Kai was looking at you with that cocky smirk of him. As soon as the game began, he followed every step you took. If you moved to the right, he moved to the right; if you moved to the left, he moved to the left. You felt cold sweat in the back of your neck when he caught the ball. You moved uncontrollably from side to side but you couldn't escape from him. He smirked at you as he threw the ball with inhuman force. The ball hit on your face hard. Your nose burnt as hell and there was blood. You couldn't see anything since tears were blurring your sight. People were screaming.

"Oh my God, are you ok?", Subin asked you but you couldn't reply.

"Are you alright? Can you get out?", the teacher asked. You nodded as he helped you to get out. "I think he just popped your nose. Take her to the nurse's office", he said to Subin. "And you're coming to the principal's office with me now!", he blurted out to Jongin.

The nurse made the bleeding stop and made you laid down on the bed for a while until you felt better. That bastard! You hated him so much but a deep part of you still cared for the boy he was and was hoping for him to come back. But that boy will never come back; you needed to assume that. You were calmly lying on the bed alone when Kai appeared. That piece of shit had the balls to visit you in the nurse's office.

"What do you want?", you asked harshly.

"The principal sent me to apologize", he replied in a desultory fashion.

"So? What are you waiting for?", you asked.

"I don't want to do it. You look better like that. You should actually thank me", he replied, looking at you with displeasure. How much you hated that look.

"You're going to regret this, Kai", you threatened.

"Really? Because you always say that but you never do anything", he mocked you.

"This time they're not just words. Be careful, Kim Jongin", you replied. It was the first time in two years that you called him Jongin, you only called him like that when you talked with yourself, and that seemed to take him with his guard low. He seemed to hesitate but his face turned soon into his cocky fashion again.

"Go ahead. I'm ready for everything", he replied as he left.

That night you painted 'dickhead' in the back glass of his car. It was childish but who cares? It was war and it just started.
