Chapter 11

The week before school finished passed by in a blur. Finals and paperwork got you so stressed that you didn't even remember about Kyungsoo's plan to go to the beach. Subin was as curt as ever with you and you didn't know why yet. She didn't talk to you at all and you didn't even bother to ask. She was childish so you decided to wait until she calmed down to talk to her. You thought she wasn't going with you to the beach until you saw her getting into Kai's car. She didn't wave or looked at you. You couldn't believe she was really acting like that. What did you do to her to be treated like that?

You sighed and got into Kyungsoo's car as both cars began their ride to the beach. The weather was really nice but you didn't really feel like going. Spending the day with a bitchy Subin and a sometimes nice sometimes evil Kai wasn't a good idea, but at least Kyungsoo was with you. Despite school had already finished and it was hot enough to go for a swim, the beach was almost deserted except for a couple of people here and there. It made you feel better since you didn't like big crowds and your mood changed.

"Wanna go for a walk?", you asked Kyungsoo. Kai looked sideways and you were expecting some kind of comment but he didn't say anything.

"Sure", Kyungsoo smiled. Gosh, that boy was so cute. He took your hand as you began your walk. You felt guilty for neglecting your relationship with him so much. Since you began to date, you hadn't really seen each other as a couple. You only met him at school and didn't have time to talk to him much. You knew it was your fault because Kai and your friendship with him consumed you and you couldn't see anything else. Kyungsoo was a good boy and he didn't deserve that.

"I'm sorry for everything. We started dating a few weeks ago but this is actually our first date. And we're not even alone", you said quietly.

"Don't be. I'm good as far as I'm with you", he replied; his big eyes full of fondness. You looked at your feet as you smiled shyly.

You talked a lot during your walk. He told you his uncle had a fishing articles' shop and he asked him to work there for the summer. It was boring but he could make good use of the money he was going to earn. He told you about his hobbies, dreams and expectations. You realized you were very similar and the more you knew him, the more you liked him. You returned for your walk to have lunch.

You were walking your way back slowly as you saw Kai and Subin from a distance. They were both sat on the sand, apparently ignoring each other. Subin was doing something with her phone as Kai was just playing with the sand tiredly. They didn't look like a couple. Actually, they looked like they don't even know each other. Was that the reason why Subin was so dour lately? Because she fought with Kai? Just when a few steps separated you from Kai and Subin, Kyungsoo stopped. You looked at him confused.

"Don't move. You have a bug on your hair", he said.

"What? Take it from me!", you replied anxious. He smiled cutely as his hand moved to your hair.

"Alright. Now it's fine", he said as his hand still lingered on your hair. To be totally honest, you thought your relationship was going to be different. You were waiting for him to make a move on you but he was always cautious. Did he really like experienced girls? Or did he want to be respectful with you? It wasn't a secret that you were a total loser as far as boys was concerned and that you never had a boyfriend before. Maybe he was just worried of scaring you and you thanked that he didn't press you. That was why you weren't expecting what happened next. His hand moved softly from your hair to your cheek and rested on the corner of your lips. He was looking at you with the sweetest eyes you'd ever seen. He leaned his head and you held your breath. His plump lips were so soft on yours. His kiss was slow, delicate. You didn't feel the urge and passion that you felt every time Kai kissed you; as if you needed it desperately. Kissing Kyungsoo was totally the opposite. It was sweet and it made you feel so calm. Your body stiffened as you felt Kai's eyes on your back. You didn't know why but it made you feel really bad and you pushed Kyungsoo softly. You were red when your faces separated.
