Time went by so fast and graduation finally came. You couldn't believe that high school was finally over and you'd start college soon. It was the best and worst time of your life. You had lost Jongin and found him again. Bad things happened to you during that time but being with Jongin again was good enough to becloud that. You didn't want to think about the past anymore and just focus on your future. And Jongin was inevitably in that future.
After graduation, you spent summer with Jongin and his parents at his lake house as you used to do when you were a kid. It was the last time you could be carefree and crazy before college and responsibility started again. It was the best summer you had ever had. You and Jongin were together all the time and nothing mattered but you two. The drama from high school was over and you had the opportunity to start again. You were going to meet new people, have new experiences... And you'd have Jongin by your side. Could you ask for more?
2 YEARS LATER
You got out of class and walked to the school cafeteria to meet your boyfriend as you used to do every day.
"Hey", you said as you sat beside him in your usual table.
"Hey, babe", Jongin said with his mouth full of food.
"Have you already started? Why didn't you wait for me?", you asked.
"But it's chicken!", he said as if that answer explained everything. You rolled your eyes and took the food he had bought for you.
You ate animatedly, laughing and talking about your day. Every day with Jongin was wonderful. You thought that you couldn't love him more but your love for him grew bigger every day. It was overwhelming, loving someone that much. You were still dazed every time you looked at him and that beautiful smile of his kept melting you. You were studying different degrees but attended the same college. It was like a dream came true; you wouldn't have imagined such a perfect situation.
College wasn't as incredible as you had imagined though. You had to study hard and barely had free time. You were stressed and felt pressed constantly. People said college was a breeze but they were lying. You hadn't studied and worked that much in your whole life. But in return, you were living things and meeting people that you couldn't have ever met other way. Although you were still cautious and you thought that wouldn't change anymore, you made a lot of friends. Jongin wasn't happy that most of your friends were boys though. You didn't do it on purpose but it was true that after Subin you didn't trust girls that much. It was stupid, but you couldn't help but feel suspicious every time you met a new girl. You still kept contact with Minseok but he was attending a different college and you just saw him during holidays. You missed him but you had everything that you wanted already. Jongin was your best friend and lover and he was the only one you needed. You didn't want to depend on him that much but you couldn't help it. Without him something was missing; something impossible to fill.
"Here", Jongin said as he took a box from him backpack.
"What is it?", you asked.
"Just open it", he smiled. You opened the box with trembling hands.
"Oh Gosh, it's so beautiful", you said as you took pretty bracelet that was inside. It was simple but really elegant; Jongin had never liked extravagant things. "Why this?", you asked as Jongin began to put the bracelet in your wrist.
"Because it's our anniversary", he replied.
"But it's not our anniversary. We began dating in summer", you replied confused.
"Not that anniversary", he said. "It's been exactly 12 years since we had our first kiss and that day I told you that I was going to marry you when we were 20", he explained.
