The following months passed by really quickly. You were so stressed with all the class work and exams. You still didn't know what you wanted to study at the university but you were working so hard to get a high mark in your access exam. Minseok had turned to be a really good friend. He was quiet and patient and was always willing to help you. He used to go to your house from time to time to study and do class work together. The first time you told Jongin about him, he went mad. He told you that you couldn't meet him anymore and couldn't even talk with him at class. It was obvious he was jealous and exceedingly worried but you couldn't help but find him cute. After what happened with the video, he didn't trust anyone around you. He didn't want you to notice his worry because he didn't want you to feel bad, but he couldn't hide it sometimes.
When he met Minseok, after insisting and whimpering as a kid, he finally calmed down. Minseok was shy but when you got to know him you found out that he was a really special boy. He was smart, funny, caring and so sweet. But most importantly, you could realize that he was genuinely a good person.
You were both sat on the floor of your bedroom as you went over the lessons of your next English exam while Jongin looked at you out of the corner of his eye as he pretended to read calmly. You could see his expression ever time angrier as Minseok came closer to you. You were sure he was going to explode at any given moment. However, his expression changed soon.
"Are you going to the ball?", Minseok asked you.
"I don't think so", you replied, looking up at Jongin shyly before you returned your attention back to Minseok.
"Why not?", Jongin asked curious. You didn't reply, you just shrugged.
"Are you going?", you asked Minseok.
"I don't know. I don't even have a couple", he replied.
"And are you going to invite anyone?", you asked.
"Well, there's a girl...", he began.
"What girl?", Jongin asked, suddenly anxious.
"It's a girl from our art class. Do you know that petite girl that always sit in the first row?", Minseok asked as Jongin softened his expression.
"Oh my God, she's so beautiful. You should totally invite her", you said excited.
"Totally", Jongin said quickly.
"And? What do you think about him?", you asked Jongin as soon as Minseok left.
"He's fine. I guess he's a good friend. And I'm happy that he doesn't like you", he smirked. "I'd like to know that girl since she is oh my God so beautiful", he continued, imitating your voice.
"You silly", you giggled, hitting his arm playfully.
"Why don't you want to go to the ball?", he asked; his expression now serious.
"I don't feel like going. I don't really have friends there, just Minseok. And I don't have a couple", you said.
"Well, I'd be more that glad to be your couple for the ball", he replied as he wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you closer.
"That would be great but we're not allowed to bring anyone that doesn't go to our school", you replied.
"But we don't have that rule in my school", he said quietly.
"No", you blurted out as you stepped away.
"Why not?", he asked.
"I don't want to go back there", you replied, feeling nervous again.
