Sirius was aware of how he was losing her. He saw the lack of sleep, he saw her talking to herself all night for the past three nights. She'd wait, feign sleep until he fell asleep, but would not sleep herself.

She was desperate to find Cedric, wherever that was, and he was never the best man. So he walked to Minerva McGonagall, the best person alive he's ever known. When he needed someone the most, she was there. Her and Lily.

"Hey," he hesitated before entering her office.

"Hello Mr. Black," she looked at him up and down. He sighed deeply, her eyes looking tired from behind her glasses. She seemed hesitant to meet his eyes. "What can I do for you?" she moved around a few parchments of paper, and made sure to not meet his gaze.

"Er, well..." he cleared his throat, standing awkwardly at the entrance. "May I sit down?" He felt stupid, how many years has it been since he graduated?

She peered at him, glasses sliding ever so slightly down her nose. "Of course."

"It's... It's Ella."

She sighed. "Yes, how is she?" She pondered how odd it was for her to be as quiet as she was.

"Broken." Sirius replied without a moment's thought. "You know the truth right?"

"What truth?"

"Voldemort being her father." Her eyes widened, and she has shown the most expression he has ever seen her show.

"How many people know it?"

"Not many," he blew raspberries. "She is losing it, Professor. I don't know what do. And since finding out about the necromancy she's losing it even more. In the summer she coped, but here she was sad, and then, now she thinks she can bring him back."

McGonagall stared in shock. She had no idea things have come this far in terms of Ella's knowledge. "Mr. Black-"

The door flew open, and Sirius sneered. "Snivellus?"

He glanced at Sirius in distaste, but both noticed he was in a hurry. "Ella's gone out of the school grounds. She is gone."

"How does a whole fucking student leave the school without anyone noticing?" Sirius grumbled as he walked with Filch and Ron Weasley.

"Well, what do you expect, Black?" Filch spat. "That we only let them sneak off when they have missing hands and legs?"

"You'd wish," Ron muttered. "I'm sorry, I like Ella and all, but she isn't even from my house, why am I looking for her?"

"You're a prefect, a prefect from each house helps us look." He groaned, but kept looking with them. He was hungry, and he was missing dinner. They were checking in Hogsmeade, so he supposed it could be worse, and look with Sprout and Snape in the Forbidden Forest. "Ella disappeared loads of times before, why are we looking now?"

Filch rolled his eyes, "Stupid kid," and none of them knew if he's talking about Ella or Ron.

"Hey Ab," Sirius suddenly called, and Aberforth nodded. He was standing by the Hog's Head, taking care of his goats. Tati was gloating for some reason. "How are you?"

"Alive," was his dry reply, his sharp blue eyes looking at the odd bunch. "You here for Ella?" he questioned about his drinking buddy, and Sirius perked up.

"She's here?"

"Was." He shrugged, "she's back in London now. Figured she'd tell you of all people." Sirius frowned, "she's taken Floo, asked me if I have it here, obviously I do."

"What address she said?" Sirius continued. Aberforth looked at the others around Sirius and shook his head.

"Can't say."

"What, Ab? It's me."

"Ain't cause of you," he muttered. Sirius caught on terrifyingly quick and gestured for the two to stay put and almost dragged Aberforth inside. They used a silencing spell, and the two stared at each other for a few moments before Sirius sighed.

"Well?"

"Oh, sorry." Aberforth chuckled, "forgot. She went to the headquarters. Dunno why, said she has to do something urgent."

"Can I use your floo powder as well?"

"Be my guest, you're my best costumers."

Sirius nodded, running outside and telling Ron and Filch they can go back and Ella's just drunk or something, and that they should tell only Dumbledore that she is feeling Fawkesy. They looked at him like he has lost all of his marbles, but Ron nodded.

"Sure, Sirius. We'll be off now, I guess..."

Sirius waited no more, and rushed back in. Aberforth was waiting with a pack of green powder, "have a safe trip," he grinned in a menacing way. Sirius had no idea why, but he figured Aberforth knew something he wasn't telling yet.

"12 Grimmauld Place," he said certainly, before stepping in.

"We should owl Dumbledore right away!"

"No, Bill, it would be no help, she needs someone who understands her, not forces her to do something."

"We should owl Snape, he'll tell Dumbledore and he is the head of her house," Mrs. Weasley interjected.

"What's going on?" Sirius asked, stepping out of his fireplace. Kreacher mumbled in the corner about blood traitors. "Is Ella here?"

"She left a few minutes ago, basically running away and almost punching Tonks in the face." Remus informed. "She went to your room, took some stuff, stopped in the bathroom for a suspicious amount of time, and took off. Even I hadn't managed to tell her a thing before she left. She wasn't completely present."

"What's going on Sirius?"

He sighed deeply. "Sit down. We need a short meeting to make sure everyone's in the same place."

"Without Dumbledore's approval or knowledge? I don't know, Padfoot."

"Look, Ella's whole thing is bigger than we thought." He informed Remus. "She is a necromancer," a chill passed through the spines of all of them. Ella? The ray of sunshine and jokes is a necromancer? "and I think she wants to bring back Cedric no matter what it takes. The bigger problem is that the Death Eaters know damn well she is one as well. And they need her. She's in danger going around alone."

"Fuck."

Ella's backpack was laying in her lap, foot tapping consistently. She was about to reach her stop, she knew it. She was shivering, and the man across from her stared at her like she may explode any moment. Her slight makeup was smudged and her eyes had prominent bags at this point, she could barely keep her chapped lips from trembling.

She pressed the stop button, and shot up so she wouldn't miss the bus stop. She mumbled a thanks to the driver before she carefully took a step down to the ground. Once upon a time, she'd hop down happily and continue in her merry way.

She hoped Sirius would find her letter, and no one else.

Her feet started walking a familiar road she has walked a few times before, until she reached a familiar house. That was it. That was her giving up on everything but him.

She rung the doorbell.

And now, she had to wait.
