LEENA

It was now Monday and I was dreading the idea of having to deal with the overcrowded hallways and the loud ass noise that greeted me as I entered the school building.

Yesterday, after Angel had walked me home, I managed to get his number.

When I say managed, I mean barely managed. I had to pester him the entire way to my house and even then he was adamant on not giving it to me.

It got to a point where I had to threaten him that if he didn't give me his number, I would continue to leave my house late at night. He obviously didn't like the sound of that, and with reluctance, he finally gave it to me.

I head over to my locker before putting in the combination and grabbing my things for the day. I wonder how Lilith and Reyna are doing, I haven't spoken to them since Friday.

They had both given me their numbers but the two were busy the entire weekend with their own families, so it's been pretty silent ever since.

"Hey Leena!" A cheery voice comes from my left and I direct my attention onto the blonde that currently has a massive grin on her face.

She was always so chirpy in the morning, I could never understand why.

I smile in return, shutting my locker to face her. "Hey, how was your weekend?"

Upon my question, her mood lifts even higher. "You won't believe what happened! I was eating dinner with my family and Mitch's family came over to eat with us. And then he-"

She's cut off by Mitch when he wraps his arms around her waist from behind. A blush creeps up onto her face and my eyebrow raises in amusement.

"What's going on here?" My question breaks whatever they've got going on and Lilith pushes his arms away.

"I'll tell you later," she hugs me before running off. It seemed like she was in a rush to leave the moment Mitch appeared. Before I can open my mouth to speak, he's muttering a 'see you later' and moving to go after Lilith.

There was no doubt about it that something was going on between the two, but I decided not to think too much of it. Besides, I was more worried about the upcoming test that I had in one of my classes that I had yet to study for.

"He what?" A grin appears on my face as Lilith repeats her words for the second time.

We were currently in the cafeteria and Reyna had plopped down onto the seat across from us just moments ago. After greeting her and exchanging small talk, my attention focuses back onto the bubbly girl to my right.

"He kissed me, didn't you hear what I said?" Her brows furrow in confusion. I laugh, throwing a fry into my mouth.

"No, I heard you. I just had to make sure that I was hearing you right." Like I said, I knew that there was something going on between the two of them, but that didn't stop the surprise that I felt.

"Don't be surprised, Leena. This girl has had a crush on him for the longest time. It's about time something happened." Reyna steals a fry from Lilith's tray and all hints of the cheeriness on the blonde's face immediately disappears.

"Hey, you took my fry." Her glare zeroes in on the redhead across from us as she reaches across the table to try to snatch it back.

Reyna is quicker though, and she pops the fry into her mouth, chewing it before speaking. "That's some good stuff."

"You fry-stealing thief," Lilith mutters before lowering herself back down onto the seat.

"Anyways, where's Angel? I haven't seen him all day." Hints of worry linger in my voice. Surely I would have seen him by now, but no, he's nowhere to be found. It was unfortunate enough that we didn't share any of the same classes.

The girl at my side answers my question. "I saw him earlier with Matt, he was saying something about heading to the basketball court after school."

I nod, pretending not to be interested. Although, I don't think it worked because Reyna gives me a look from across the table.

"What? Why are you giving me that look?" I match her expression and watch as she raises her brows. She wasn't buying whatever I was trying to sell.

She shrugs, giving up on the topic. "What happened with you over the weekend?" She asks, curiosity in her voice.

"Attended a failed wedding and saw Angel at the park," I say as if it's nothing. The table goes quiet and I look up from my tray to see the both of them staring at me dumbfounded.

"I don't know which one to focus on, the fact that you met up with Angel or the fact that you attended a wedding and said nothing." I eye Reyna as she finishes her sentence, humor lingering in her words.

"It slipped my mind," I chuckle and continue. "Anyway, you guys should've seen what happened. The groom had a secret relationship going on and the woman showed up. She went batshit crazy and everything." I laugh, thinking back to yesterday.

Every time I think about it, I can't help but laugh. That was the funniest shit that I've seen all year.

"So you saw Angel at the park?" Lilith asks after a moment. She was more interested in that than the wedding but to be honest, I couldn't blame her.

"Well, yeah. It wasn't planned, I just ran into him." I start, quickly assuring her that nothing happened. She gives me a knowing look before looking away.

"Why are the two of you staring at me like that? I'm serious." My eyes narrow at the two of them.

"Okay well, I'm gonna head off." Reyna stands, taking her empty tray with her. After saying her goodbyes, she as well as Lilith go their own way.

Great, neither of them believe me.

I know it's only been Leena's POV so far but don't worry, give it a couple of chapters!!

I just don't want to switch POV's so early because it might reveal too much, and the book just started

Lilith and Mitch's ship is beginning to sail! I think that their relationship will probably develop the earliest out of the three couples because they've been close for a long time

If anyone's confused, they aren't together YET.

I don't want to spoil too much but I have something planned a couple of chapters from now (this has nothing to do with the POV switch but it's still gonna be shocking)

You'll just have to wait 😏
