LEENA

"You never answered my question." His voice breaks the silence that engulfed the car for the past twenty minutes.

Seriously? Was he ever going to give it up? I thought he had forgotten about it but it's like nothing slips past him. "The same reason that you decided to visit."

I can practically envision him rolling his eyes as my gaze focuses on the road. If he wasn't going to tell me anything, I wasn't going to tell him anything. Two can play that game.

"Stop being difficult and answer my question," he says, getting fed up with me.

He wasn't the one who deserved to be mad right now, I was. With an annoyed huff, I lean my arm against the door. "I was visiting a loved one, that's all you need to know."

Silence engulfs the atmosphere once more and I'm relieved that he finally took it upon himself to leave it alone.

I wanted to know why he was at the graveyard as well, but I knew that he probably wouldn't even give me an answer. He was there for one reason, to visit someone who passed away. But who?

God, I was so nosy.

Deciding that I've had enough of the silence, I clear my throat. "I'm hungry. We should stop somewhere to eat before I drop you off." My suggestion causes him to stiffen and I turn my head to glance at him.

"What? What's wrong?" I attempt to hide my smirk with a mock frown, although it doesn't work very well.

The hands in his lap clench into fists and I almost burst out laughing. He was bothered by me.

Unfortunately I didn't care. I'd do anything to get a reaction out of him at this point.

"Just drop me off," he mutters under his breath, breathing in and letting out a breath before unclenching his fists. He was trying to calm himself down. However, I wanted to rile him up.

I begin to speak, although my sentence is cut off by the low growl of his stomach, indicating that he's hungry as well.

"Yeah, I don't think so." I bring the car to a stop in front of a diner, stepping out of the car and waiting for him to do the same.

"Come on, I know you're hungry." I stare at him from outside of the car and he doesn't make a move to leave.

With a roll of my eyes, I walk around the car and open his door, grabbing onto his arm and giving it a tug. "Will you just get out of the car?" I raise my voice, feeling frustrated.

When that doesn't work, I resort to pleading. "Please, Angel?"

That seems to do it and he's sighing before stepping out of the car. I smile, relieved that he finally listened.

Not letting go of his arm, I drag him into the small diner. A lady greets us and leads us to a booth in the far back. I settle onto the cushion, watching as she walks away to allow us to take our time with deciding our orders.

"So, what are you going to order?" I ask, my gaze landing onto the menus set on the table. He picks up one of the menus, glancing over the options.

"A burger or something." He sets the laminated menu down, running a hand through his hair. I nod, looking over the options and deciding that I also want a burger. And a milkshake. And fries.

After the lady returns and takes our orders, I'm leaning back against the booth cushion, my eyes trailing over his form across the table.

While I'm observing him, his gaze travels down my form as well. "You're staring." He snaps out of whatever daze he's in, giving me a look and leaning back against the booth cushion.

"So are you."

I find amusement in his words, not missing how quickly he became defensive.

Thinking back to when he ignored me all of those times, my eyes narrow. "You should be thankful that I haven't cursed your ass off for what you did." I scoff, the memory of him asking me to leave him alone suddenly appearing in my mind.

Angel's jaw tightens at my words and he leans forward in his seat—ready to speak, though the waitress approaches the table with our food, stopping him from opening his mouth.

The sight of the juicy burger on the plate momentarily pulls my attention away from the guy in front of me. I quickly mutter a "thank you" to the lady before digging in.

I'm so engrossed in eating that I don't even notice Angel silently judging me, his burger resting untouched in his hands as he stares at me.

Wiping my mouth with a napkin, I swallow. "What?" Could he really judge me? I was hungry as hell and when I was hungry and eating, it wasn't a pretty sight to see.

He shakes his head, bringing his burger up to his lips and taking a bite out of it. I couldn't help but watch as his tongue swiped out to lick the excess food from off his lips.

Neither could I help the dirty thoughts that flew through my mind.

Leena, get a hold of yourself.

I'm able to snap myself out of it and I continue eating in silence. I grab the milkshake, bringing it up to my lips before taking a sip from the glass.

As I grab a fry, Angel stops me. "You still have some on your mouth," he says, referring to the remnants of the milkshake that I hadn't wiped off.

I try to wipe it off, but my efforts must have failed because, before I know it, Angel leans over the table and uses his thumb to clean it off.

I stare at him, utterly stunned by his actions. But what he does next nearly gives me a heart attack.

I watch in shock as he lifts his thumb to his mouth, his lips closing around it to suck off the remnants of the milkshake. While he's doing this, he never once takes his eyes off of mine.

My jaw almost drops.

"What are you doing?" I ask, my cheeks flushing. My question jolts him out of whatever daze he's in, and shock quickly spreads across his face.

Maybe I was imagining things, but I could have sworn I saw his ears redden slightly.

No, I was definitely imagining things.

Seems like Angel's resolve is weakening😏

Well it's been weakening but it's becoming more prominent now

Bro literally told her to leave him alone but he's hitching a ride from her AND willingly (not really willingly) eating with her

Like what!??

I haven't established this earlier but Leena's name is pronounced Ley-en-a

I don't even know why I'm just now mentioning that but oh well
