I examine my reflection in the mirror, my eyes trailing down my figure that's adorned in a brown dress with a pattern of small white flowers on it.
The dress reaches just above my knees and on top of it is a light brown cardigan.
I looked decent. Well, to me I did. I'm not sure how I looked to others and that bothered me more than it should've.
My dad's friend Randy had invited us to his wedding, so here I was, getting ready while my father waited downstairs by the staircase.
I found it strange that he hadn't offered my dad to be one of his groomsmen, seeing that my dad talked about how close they were when he told me that we were invited.
After finishing up, I make my way out of my room, shutting the door behind me and heading down the stairs.
I knew nothing about this guy, so I didn't know what to expect. I mean, I haven't even met him. On top of that, I've never been to a wedding in my life.
I just hope that it goes by quickly so I can come back home and get some more rest.
"Leena, you look beautiful." My dad greets me at the bottom of the staircase. He wasn't too dressed up. It really just looked to me like he threw on whatever he could find in his closet and called it a day.
"It's really not all that, but thank you." It's true, it really wasn't much. It bothered me when my dad would call me 'beautiful' or compliment me in any kind of way. Don't get me wrong, I knew that he meant it, but I didn't feel beautiful, much less look like it.
Self love just wasn't my thing.
"Don't say that. You look beautiful." He gently grabs the side of my face, bringing his lips up to press a small kiss on my forehead.
A smile makes its way onto my face as I look up at my dad before giving him a short hug in which he reciprocates.
After he pulls back, we head out of the house and towards his car.
The drive is silent aside from the faint hum of the engine and the radio that plays. I roll down my window and let the wind blow into the car and into my face.
It was nice outside today. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and the sun was out. It was now mid November but I had decided to ditch a jacket, although I'm beginning to regret it since it's quite chilly today.
I hated wearing jackets. I don't know, they ruined my outfits that were already bad enough.
Eventually we're heading into the church and finding a seat amongst the other attendees.
It's not too long after that the bride is walking down the aisle, her father guiding her to the groom at the end of the walkway.
"We are gathered here today to witness the joining of two hearts, Randy and Stephanie." The officiant begins, his voice filling the silence of the church.
He continues on, but his words begin to become a blur in the haze of my boredom. My eyelids were beginning to grow heavy and I practically had to fight to stay awake for the sake of the wedding.
It isn't until a woman interrupts that I'm pulled out of the haze I'm in. "I object!"
My gaze trails over to a woman who looks to be in her mid thirties as she stands up from her seat, a look of pure outrage on her face.
The groom turns his head to stare at her, and it's then that I notice the absolute horror on his face. Interesting.
"Randy, how could you?" She balls her hands into fists before continuing. "You're in love with me!" Her voice echoes throughout the room and the attendees gasp.
The entire scene was something so humorous that it had me sitting up in my seat. Any traces of sleep were now diminished.
Randy stares at her a moment longer before turning his gaze back to the woman dressed in white in front of him. "I don't know what that crazy woman is talking about," he says, a nervous laugh escaping his lips.
"That's not what you were saying when you were in bed with me!" The woman is basically yelling at this point, there was no doubt about it that everyone in the church had heard her.
"Randy," the woman in front of him stares between the two in suspicion. "Is what she's saying true?"
I watch her face pale as she listens to him try to explain himself. However, she didn't seem convinced in the slightest.
"No honey, of course not. I've never met the woman in my life." Randy continues to ramble on as Stephanie begins to come to a realization.
Everything goes downhill from there. The woman, who I'm now learning is named Jess, marches her way over to the bride before grabbing onto her hair. People stand up from their seats, taking out their phones to record the crazy scene taking place in front of them.
Randy attempts to intervene, trying to pull the two apart from each other but he ends up getting punched in the process. A loud ooooh comes from the attendees and I'm practically doubling over laughing at this point.
Who needs comedy when you can watch it take place right in front of you, am I right?

Long story short, the entire wedding went to shambles. I guess you could say the two weren't going to be exchanging vows any time soon, or at all for that matter.
Dad and I had returned home about two hours ago and I spent the two hours cooped up in my bedroom munching on snacks and binge watching The Vampire Diaries on my laptop.
Although I loved to gawk at Ian Somerhalder, I was getting bored.
I shut the laptop, moving to get off of my bed and stretching my arms above my head.
Deciding to go to the park, I throw on a jacket, surprising myself seeing how I barely ever wear one, even during the cold month of November. I'm honestly surprised that I haven't gotten sick yet. It's only a matter of time.
Shutting the front door behind me, I head to my car and hop in, putting the car into drive before pulling out of the driveway.
To the park I go.
I have not uploaded for a while so here it is 😍
Also like I'm getting no reads right now so I barely have the motivation to post
Oh well
