Author POV
As she walked toward his room, she saw Edward stepping out, dressed sharply in a suit and his usual tie with tie pin. He seemed to be in a rush.
"Good morning dear" he greeted her warmly while walking toward her with purpose.
"Good morning…" she replied, noticing his urgency. "Are you going to the office on Sunday?""No" Edward said briefly. "I’m going to meet my friend"
Earlier, while getting ready, Edward had received a call from Namon’s assistant about an urgent matter."Actually" Amelia began hesitantly "I also wanted to meet a friend of mine, Trisha" Edward stopped and looked at her. "I’ll drop you off," he said
She shook her head. "No, I think your friend needs you more. I have Rose’s number. I’ll call her and ask her to take me."Edward stepped closer, his eyes serious but caring. "Stay with Rose the entire time, okay? If anything happens, call me immediately."
Amelia nodded, reassured by his words. As Edward stepped out of the mansion and got into his car, he quickly messaged Mr. Abbott to inform him about Amelia going out.
After reading her personal diary, Edward had come to an important realization. Keeping her confined within the mansion, no matter how well-intentioned, would only make her feel trapped and upset. And that was something he could never allow. He vowed to protect her at all costs, but not at the expense of her happiness. Her joy, he knew, was fragile, and even the smallest gesture mattered deeply to her. For Amelia, Edward was willing to go to any lengths to ensure her safety without ever breaking her spirit.
At the badminton court of Namon’s mansion, Edward arrived to find Namon furiously playing against a staff member. His assistant had called Edward because Namon had been angry and unresponsive, playing matches without a break since the previous night. Namon’s sweat-drenched form and intense glare made it clear that his frustration had not eased, and he had already defeated 46 opponents.
Amelia was ready when Rose arrived to take her. Together, they soon reached Trisha's home, a modest house where Trisha lived alone. Trisha greeted both of them warmly, though there was a hint of nervous energy in her demeanor.
“Thank you for coming, Ani. And you too, Rose,” Trisha said with a faint smile.
“You’ve got a lovely home,” Amelia complimented, glancing around.
“Thank you” Trisha replied, shifting on her feet. Then, looking at Amelia, she added, “Actually, I wanted to talk to you privately.”
Amelia smiled reassuringly. “yeah go ahead”
However, Trisha’s uneasiness grew, she wanted to alone with her and Amelia noticed it. “Alright”
Trisha led Amelia to her bedroom while Rose stayed behind, casually inspecting the surroundings. She ensured everything seemed safe, while Edward’s men, hidden in disguise, guarded the house from outside.Inside the room, Trisha seemed fidgety, her eyes darting around. Amelia tried to ease the tension. “Kelly, Henry, and Peter have told me so much about you. I feel like I know you already.”
Trisha managed a small smile. “They’re all wonderful people. I just… I’m sorry for not reaching out sooner, Amu.. Things have been… complicated.”
“It’s alright. I understand,” Amelia replied softly, studying Trisha’s face. Something was off, and Amelia could sense it. She glanced around the room, a chill running down her spine. “Trisha…” she said slowly, her voice almost a whisper. “Is there… someone else in this room?”
Trisha froze, her expression shifting to one of nervous panic. “W-What? No, of course not,” she stammered, but her tone betrayed her fear.
Meanwhile, at Namon’s mansion, Edward walked into the badminton court. Namon was playing with one of his staff, sweat dripping from his brow, but his movements were sharp and filled with anger. His frustration was palpable as he hit shot after shot, driving his opponent to exhaustion. His gaze hardened as he observed Namon’s boiling rage.
