August 27, 2025. Yensom Federation. Yensom Imperial Capital. Senate Chambers.
An entourage of guards move through the somber halls of the chamber at a quick pace.
GUARD: We lost contact with the forces in Mira, the lines have been cut.
KING: My son's planning to cut us off from loyal forces. I want you to send loyal police and troops to guard the remaining telegraph lines, if we can get word to forces in Fort Mcnary they can be here before nightfall.
GENERAL: Your highness I suggest we evacuate before the city is completely lost.
KING: Me staying is giving my son less legitimacy, and if he kills me the best outcome is civil war. The worst outcome is Hillion invading.
ADVISOR: Asking for our allies to help would force him to back down.
KING: He has already played the right cards to turn them against us.
The royal entourage enters the senate Chamber, which is already in heated debate over the current situation. The king moves through the crowd to the front of the room, where he sits on the open chair at the front. The senators take their seats and the oval room becomes quiet.
KING: As many of you know, that insolent son of mine has decided that further dividing our nation was the best course of action. I do not intend to leave this country or back down. If that bastard wants war he'll get it.
A messenger bursts into the room, crumbling to his knees out of breath.
MESSENGER: Troops from Mcnary have been spotted 2 Kila away. Being escorted by the American's flying machines.
The room erupts into a cheer, with one word being repeated over and over... War.
A horde of Apaches escorted the convoy. Assaulted the capital walls and enemy facilities, before pulling back and returning to base. The soldiers from Mcnary set up artillery, bombarding the wall further and defenses within. The new breech loader guns, just recently issued, reach positions that normal guns wouldn't. The first wave of soldiers attempt to secure the west gate, to secure a foothold for the second wave, but are repulsed with heavy casualties. Loyal forces in the city secure the palace and major government buildings, the last of the telegraph lines are wrestled from rebel hands. A call for forces is sent out being received by the more well armed and numerical Fort Gina, who heeds the call and sends reinforcements. Unlike the troops from Mcnary they won't be helped by the Americans and won't reach the city for 2 days. The city is set to siege with barrages and counter barrages being exchanged. 2 F-56s drop napalm on the nearby bridge connecting to the north gate, hampering enemy calvary. Two ospreys break through the smoke, heading to the senate building. The potshots they receive are met with overwhelming fire from the door gunners miniguns.
The F-56s turn back around launching missiles targeting the remaining enemy anti air positions. The ospreys touch down. The King and senators are convinced to evacuate to Aquila until a suitable temporary capital can be found. The ospreys lift off. The building soon falls into battle with those remaining fending off the rebels. Mcnary's operating garrison surrounds the capital and prepares trench lines. If assaulting from within or from outside won't work, starving them should.
(2 Kila is equal to 4 miles. Napalm was reinstated as a main weapon of war despite its position as a "Outdated Ordnance". The enemies and situations faced by the US in the past 10 years has shown them that cluster and flame munitions are needed if further conflicts arise.)
August 28, 2025. Blechin Family Ranch. Miles From Panguitch, Utah.
Winston exits Ulysses room. He walks to the dining room where Wyte has turned it into his temporary office. He is about to talk, but Wyte stops him with a raised finger.
