Say Goodnight For This year, To the New Day of New Year

He remembers vividly, it was a dark night and it was a cold day, he remembers being bundled in a big oversized jacket which belongs to his brother cuz he loves it. It made him feel warmth and has a sense of comfort from it.

He was --he assumed-- he must have turned 4 at that time of the year. His mind couldn't help but think back at that time where he was at his old home, the little him being surrounded with his family- his parents and his older brother. It was so warmth and so peaceful.

He remembers the last time they celebrate the new year celebration together.

"Pang, do you have a new ambition for next year?" His older brother, Kaizo asked as he childishly poke his cheeks and laugh at his cute annoyed look.

"What is ambi-ion..?" Little Pang squint his eyes as he said the word.

"Ambition" Kaizo corrected kindly.

Fang hug the carrot looking pillow close to him as his brother took a seat next to him on the sofa. He wouldn't let go of it anywhere, after all It is a present from his parents and so it has became his favourite plushie. He looks at his brother who was thinking for a moment.

"Hmmm...An ambition is a kind of like a goal or dream that someone has for their life." Kaizo said simply.

"Dream?" Fang tilted his head cutely.

"Yes, like my dream is to become a Captain!" Kaiso said proudly as he smiles. "But to achieve that dream you have to work hard!" Kaizo said with determination.

"Hehe, that's true you have to work really hard to achieve that dream of yours Kaizo." The soft chuckling was from their mother. He hair is tied in her usual bun with the beautiful hairpin stuck on the side. She hold a tray of two hot chocolate and put it down on the table.

"Yey chocolate!" Pang made his way, coming down from the sofa and went to the table. He made a cute grabby hand to take it. His mother smile warmly at her.

"Careful dear, it's hot." His mother said as she handed him the small cup filled with hot chocolate. It wasn't too hot just a nice warmth.

Fang smelled the aroma of the chocolate as he took a sip. "Mmhn!" Fang giggle happily. Slowly sitting down of the fluffy carpet of his living room. He continues drinking his drink.

"Is it delicious?"

"Yes!" Pang nodded happily.

"Oh it's about to start." Comes his father into the living room and took a seat at his usual seat at the side of the sofa. Holding his own mug of hot coffee as he looks at the gigantic window that shows the view of the city lights.

The time is ticking slowly.

Fang and Kaizo excitedly took their space, playfully pushing around one another qhile their mother gently smile in amusement.

The happy family waited while listening to the radio broadcast talking about the End of The Year, their favorite show.

"Alright everyone let's do the countdown now!"

"5!"

Those two lovely kids yelled out! Smiling.

"4!"

The parents too couldn't help but joined them.

"3!"

The people down there full of the citizens was ready to shoot the fireworks.

"2!"

The breeze of the cold night winds was soothing, making his hair flutter as he stared of into the cold night. Way back to the memory lane that was so out of reach, it's bitter but somewhat warm in a sense that it was a joyous time.

He sigh. "There you are." A deep voice.

"Mmhm?" He glazed up and the person had already took a seat next to him, a cup of hot chocolate was handed to him and he just realized that there's a warm blanket on his back. He laughed. "How did you find me brother?"

"Anyone could see that hedgehog hair from afar Pang." The older man teased. "Besides this has the most beautiful view." He took a sip of his own drink.

Yeah at the top of his haunted mansion rooftop. Still Fang just enjoyed the warmth that radiates from the cup, humming happily.

"Yeah. I guess it is." Fang said softly and slowly tilted his head to his brother's side. Kaizo put his chin under the boy's head, not minding it a little. The sound of the fire was heard and they both perked up in excitement.

The first fireworks was fired up into the air and making a beautiful spark in the starry night.

It was beautiful.

"Happy New Year Pang."

Fang found himself smiling wide.

"Happy New Year too...Abang."
