That morning, things felt a little different in Class 12-A. The sun had just come up, and its light was pouring through the windows, making the floor feel all warm.
Some of the students were messing around in the corner, while others were organizing their books. The room was full of laughs and chatter until two people walked in together, and suddenly, everything went quiet.
Jeena and Sunghoon had just arrived at their classroom, walking in together like they always do. But today, something felt off.
As Jeena stepped in, she could feel everyone's eyes on her. Some were curious, while others seemed like they were trying to hold back teasing smiles.
From the corner of the room, Wonyoung shot her a sharp look, rolling her eyes and clicking her tongue.
"Tch, her again," Wonyoung muttered, making Leeseo stifle a giggle as they exchanged knowing looks.
Jeena felt the weird vibe and quickly made her way to her desk, with Sunghoon following her.
But just as she was about to sit down, she stopped in her tracks. There was something weird on her desk: a small bouquet of flowers in a glass vase, a single pink rose, and a matching envelope.
"Jee, what's this?" Sunghoon asked, his voice low but edged with surprise.
Jeena didn't answer right away. She stared at the little display, her mind racing. Then, as if on its own, a faint smile appeared on her lips. She reached for the rose, holding it delicately as she brought it closer to her face.
"Who left this here?" she murmured, more to herself than anyone else.
Sunghoon, watching her the whole time, felt this weird feeling in his chest, a mix of jealousy. He didn't like seeing Jeena smile like that because of someone else.
"Open the envelope," he urged, his tone sharper than he intended.
Jeena was about to do just that when hurried footsteps echoed from the doorway.
"Jeena!" A familiar voice called out, bright and cheerful.
It was Sunoo, from the class next door. He strode in with a thick blue notebook in hand, his usual smile lighting up his face.
"Sunoo?" Jeena looked up, startled by his sudden entrance.
"I brought this for you," Sunoo said, holding out the notebook. "I copied down all the exam tips and notes. Thought it might help you study."
Jeena hesitated before taking it. "Sunoo, you didn't have to go through all this trouble..."
Sunoo shrugged, running a hand through his hair. "It's no big deal. I just wanted to help. You'll ace the finals with this, trust me."
But as Sunoo's eyes drifted to Jeena's desk, his smile faltered. His gaze locked onto the rose and the envelope.
"That... who's it from?" he asked, trying to sound casual, though there was an edge to his voice.
