That morning, with school on break for the day, the quiet stillness of the house was interrupted by the soft creak of a bedroom door.

Sunghoon and Jeena stepped out of their rooms at the same time, their eyes meeting in an awkward silence. Both their faces flushed slightly—maybe because last night's memory was still fresh in their minds.

The moment when Sunghoon had finally confessed his feelings to Jeena.

Jeena offered a small, tentative smile, hoping to break the tension.

"Morning, Sunghoon."

"Morning," he replied softly, his voice warm but cautious. "Did you—sleep well?"

Jeena hesitated for a moment before smiling back. "Uh—kind of hard to fall asleep. What about you?"

"Same," Sunghoon admitted with a light chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

His eyes then drifted to Jeena's outfit—a bright blouse paired with casual jeans. She looked like she was already prepared to head out. His curiosity piqued.

"Are you going somewhere?" he asked, trying to sound casual.

Before Jeena could answer, the doorbell rang. She quickly hurried downstairs to get the door, with Sunghoon following closely behind, his curiosity growing.

When Jeena opened the door, there stood Ni-ki, his signature bright smile lighting up the space. He held a motorcycle helmet in his hand, looking effortlessly cool yet relaxed.

"Morning, Jeena," Ni-ki greeted cheerfully, then glanced over her shoulder at Sunghoon. "Oh, morning to you too, Sunghoon."

Sunghoon raised an eyebrow, a flicker of surprise crossing his face.

"What are you doing here so early?" His tone was calm but edged with suspicion.

Ni-ki chuckled lightly, responding with an easy air, "I'm here to pick Jeena up. We're studying together today, right, Jeena?" He turned to her with a grin that somehow managed to be both charming and infuriating.

Jeena nodded, looking a little flustered.

"Yeah... we— made plans."

Sunghoon felt his chest tighten. The way Ni-ki spoke to Jeena, the way he smiled at her—it was grating. But he forced himself to stay composed.

"Studying together, huh?" he murmured under his breath, almost to himself. "Didn't know you were into group study sessions, Ni-ki."

The comment caught Ni-ki off guard for a moment, but he quickly recovered, smirking slightly.

Jeena, sensing the rising tension, stepped in.

"If you want, Sunghoon, you can come with us," she offered sincerely, though there was a hint of unease in her voice.

Ni-ki's eyes widened ever so slightly. He clearly hadn't anticipated Jeena inviting Sunghoon along. Internally, he hoped Sunghoon would decline; he had been looking forward to a day alone with Jeena.

But since last night, Sunghoon wasn't the type to act selfishly, even if jealousy gnawed at him. He had promised himself that Jeena's happiness would always come first. With a small, strained smile, he shook his head.

"Nah, it's fine. I don't want to intrude. I've got stuff to do anyway."

Jeena hesitated, unsure. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm sure," Sunghoon said with a firm nod, though his heart felt heavier with every word.

Ni-ki's smile relaxed as he glanced between the two of them. "Alright then, we'll get going. See you later, Sunghoon."
