After finals were over, the senior classrooms were way more chill than usual. Everyone was doing their own thing—some were chatting, others playing cards, and a few just leaning back in their chairs with their headphones on. The stress of endless studying was finally gone, and now it was all about soaking in the last moments of school life.
In the middle of all the laughter and random conversations, the classroom 12A door suddenly swung open, and a group of students from Class 12B barged in—Heeseung, Jay, Ni-ki, and a few others tagging along.
Heeseung, the school's basketball captain, strode in like he owned the place, his signature wide grin making everyone turn his way.
"Jake!" Heeseung called out loudly, interrupting the conversation happening at Jake, Sunghoon, Jungwon, and Jeena's table. "Let's go! Basketball match, right now!"
Jake, who'd been casually leaning back, raised an eyebrow. "Wait, like, now now?"
"Yes, now," Jay answered, stepping in with a confident smirk.
"Your class versus ours," Heeseung added, spinning a basketball in his hands. "Or are you guys just gonna sit here all day?"
"Oh, you're on," Jake said, hyped as he stood up and turned to the room. "Alright, who's in for a match against 12B?"
A small crowd started to gather, clearly intrigued by the challenge.
"You guys better play too," Jake said, glancing at Sunghoon and Jungwon.
"Yeah, why not," Sunghoon said with a shrug. Then, turning to Jeena, he added, "Eh— Jee, you coming to watch?"
Jeena hesitated for a moment, then shook her head. "Mmm... I think I'll just stay here. Just— not really in the mood to leave class.."
"No cheer squad to hype us up? Tragic," Ni-ki teased, earning a round of laughter from the group.
"Sorry, guys," Jeena said with a small laugh. "Consider me a virtual supporter this time."
"Alright, that's okay, Jee.." Heeseung said, then clapping Jake, Sunghoon and Jungwon on the back. "Let's go, guys! 12A versus 12B."
"Jungwon, you're coming too, right?" Jay asked, noticing Jungwon hadn't moved an inch.
Jungwon glanced up from the class files he was sorting. "Uh—sorry, I can't. Still got some class rep stuff to handle. You know, the usual."
"Dude, we're practically done with school, and you're still doing class rep stuff? Pfttt..." Jake teased, shaking his head.
"Alright, let's hit the court!" Heeseung said, leading the charge out of the classroom.
"Good luck, you guys!" Jeena called out, waving at them.
Soon, the classroom emptied out, leaving Jeena and Jungwon behind.
The quiet settled in, and Jungwon's heart started racing as he realized they were the only ones left. It wasn't every day he got to be alone with Jeena like this.
Taking a deep breath, Jungwon stood and walked over to the desk next to her.
Jeena looked up, a little surprised.
"Oh, hey— didn't realize it's just us now." She glanced around and smiled.
"Mind if I sit here?" he asked, his voice casual, but his heart pounding.
"Of course not."
Jungwon sat down, his dimples showing as he smiled at her, which made Jeena smile back instinctively.
"So, Jee," he started, leaning slightly forward, "I wanted to ask you something."
Jeena raised an eyebrow, curious. "What is it?"
