Chapter 43: ball gowns and poofy dresses

"Okay guys hurry hurry she's almost here!" Jj said frantically as they all scrambled around the conference room with flowers, gifts and chocolates. "Hotch just texted! They're coming up in the elevator now!"

"Where's Ethan!?" Penelope asked looking around.

Ethan came tumbling into the room holding yet more flowers and two coffees, "I'm here I'm here!" He said putting the flowers down on the desk handing one coffee to Jess "sorry there was an agent down stairs in the coffee line being a complete ass"

"Sounds familiar" Jess teased him.

"Shut up and drink your coffee" she giggled.

Rossi came waltzing in casually but was quickly ushered into a place next to the table by Penelope.

"Guys there here!" Derek said if peaking through the blinds looking into the bullpen and they all saw Emily and hotch walking in towards the conference room.

"Okay places everyone!" Penelope said panicked and they all did accordingly.

Seconds later Emily came in followed by hotch. "Welcome back!" Everyone shouted at the same time and Emily's face lit up with joy as they all went to hug her.

"Awh guys! You didn't have to do all this, I've only been gone two months"

"Yes we did because we love you and we missed you." Jess said pulling back from her hug.

"Jess you saw me four days ago."

"Yeah and that was a very hard four days for me" Emily laughed as she went on to hug the rest of them.

"Plus not only are you back but you're ENGAGED!" JJ said excitedly they all took that as an opportunity to congratulate the happy couple and Emily opened the little gifts of appreciation the team had bought her.

"Okay while I understand you're all very happy to have Emily back, as am I. Can I have you all getting back to work now." Hotch announced and while they all went back to their desks they kept talking while they walked.

"So em have you started planning the wedding? Do you need any help because I have loads of ideas! I have a mood board in the making in my office" Penelope said giddy and excited.

"No not yet but we did agree we want to keep it small"

Rossi came cover joining the conversation "well my mansion is always available if you guys would like all you have to do is say the word"

Emily couldn't help but chuckle "thanks Dave, we'll keep that in mind."

~three months later~

Today Penelope, jj and Jess had all gone out shopping together with Emily to help her find a wedding dress. From the moment she walked in the girls could tell Emily was immediately overwhelmed by the wedding and all the decisions that played into it but they did their best to make her feel relaxed. When they walked in a a smiley lady came over to greet them "hi guys you must be the 2 o'clock appointment for Emily prentiss right?" All four girls nodded eagerly then the lady looked to Jess "so does that make you Emily?"

Jess looked a little awkward but shook it off "uhh.. no I'm just her friend, this is Emily" she said putting a hand on Emily's shoulder and the woman looked confused.

"Oh, right Sorry about that. okay well come on in I have some complimentary champagne for you guys which I'll bring over in a second but for now do you need any help looking for a dress, do you have any ideas?"

"Oh no we'll be fine thank you" Emily waved her off and she left them alone in a private section at the back of the shop.

Then girls split off in different directions to look at dresses "Hey em, what kind of dress are you looking for?" Jess called out, lost in a rack of big poofy dresses.
