Niki actually enjoyed the rest of the night. He watched Yura for most of the time, a faint smile on his face that he didn't even notice.

She was enjoying herself, nosy with her uncle and Niki saw that they had a good relationship with each other.
The boy's grandma approached him for the second time that evening, the first time was by saying hello so it actually couldn't count.

"How are you liking it so far, dear?" The old woman smiled, her wrinkles moving but she was an adorable lady that Niki always looked for comfort in when his mother or father weren't available.

"It's... Better than I expected." the boy shrugged, his eyes couldn't leave Yura for too long and he glanced back at her every few seconds. He couldn't help it and didn't even know why.

His grandmother broke into a smile "I can imagine." she looked around at the people and Niki snapped his head towards her by her next words "She caught your eye?"

"What?"

"Yura. I've talked to her, she's a sweetheart." the woman said happily.

Niki stood with a slightly open mouth there and looked between his grandmother and the floor "uh yeah sure she is."

He saw the old woman smiling teasingly at him "Don't think i didn't see you out in the yard while we celebrated."

Niki's eyes widened. Someone knew. "I- uh.."

"Are you two together? Do your parents know?" the woman asked.

"Wh-what no! No and no." Niki shook his head with a frown.

"Mhm, I figured, by how shocked the girl looking when you kissed her cheek it was clearly that that never happened before." his grandmother said thoughtfully.

"D-did she... I don't know.. Look like she," Niki tried to find his words. It was weird talking to his grandmother, or anyone for that matter, about that "like hated it?"

"Oh gosh no!" The elder laughed heartily "she poor girl couldn't stop blushing. It was dark but it didn't take a genius to see that."

Niki couldn't help but feel proud at that, he didn't even know why. He made girls blush every day with almost everything he does. But maybe that was also the reason he was so proud of it. Because with Yura it doesn't only take a smile to make her go all red.

"Did someone else see us?" Niki asked, tense now and looking around to see if anyone was acting different.

"I don't think so. They were all busy with their own partner or celebrating."

"Okay good." Niki nodded and looked at the floor. It only his grandmother had seen them. He knew he could trust the woman but it still made him nervous to think that someone in their families knows something has happened between them.

"So? Are you two together?" His grandmother asked excited.

"No. Never." Niki frowned and shook his head. Their parents were married, so Yura and Niki could definitely not be a couple.
