Yura had locked herself in her room until late evening. She didn't eat dinner and she was glad that Niki hadn't approached her door and tried to speak to her.
The girl hoped it was because they wanted to act like they normally did but something deep inside of her feared that her father might have also talked to him.
Did he do something to Niki?

The girl swore that if he did then she'd slap the man himself, despite knowing what worse he'd do to her then.

Yura didn't sleep that night. She had heard when her father and Mrs. Nishimura walked into their bedroom but other than that she didn't hear anything.

Niki bopped his head, his headphones blasted the loud music through his ears as he doodled in his sketchbook to pass the time. He had been listening to music for hours now, while being on his phone or staring absently in the distance of his room.

He did anything to pass the time and now that he looked over at the clock on his desk. The adults had went to bed and it was past eleven.

The boy stopped the music, took his headphones off and stood up. Slowly and quietly making his way out in the hallway and walking until he was in front of Yura's door.
He could barely make out the doorknob in the darkness but he knew his way around.

Niki slowly opened the door, the room was dark and silent. He didn't expect that. The boy turned the lights on, seeing Yura laying in her bed with her back facing him.

Yura tried to appear asleep, hoping Niki would leave. She wasn't ready yet. She wasn't ready to talk to him and especially not to tell him what her father said.
But instead she heard him coming closer after closing the door.

The bed dipped behind her and she felt him lean over her "I know you're not asleep."

Yura sighed and sat up, Niki following suit. She turned to him, seeing him smile but when he saw that Yura wasn't as happy as him he stopped.
"What's wrong?" he asked.

"I.. Uhm.." She couldn't do this. It broke her heart. The girl got no word out without the possibility of flowing tears.

"Hey, Yura." Niki put his hand on her cheek and only now did he see that there was a patch of bandage on the bridge of her nose.
"What happened?" He glared at the injury out of instinct.

Yura pulled away from his touch, making him more confused "That?" she pointed at her nose with a dry chuckle "Oh I just tripped against my shelf after standing up too fast." the lie dripped from her lips like venom "Oh and by the way, my father found out about us and now we-" the girl choked down a stop after that. The overwhelming feeling that she tried to cover up with a smile throughout her whole speak broke through.

"Wha- wait, wait! What? Start again, slowly." The boy told her but Yura was frantically shaking her head with tears in her eyes. Niki wanted to comfort her but she wouldn't let him touch her.

Yura took a deep breath in, her jaw clenching and fists tightening. She didn't want to do this. But her father would take it out on Niki if they didn't stop. He'd send him away.
"We can't do this anymore. We need to stop."

"What?" Niki's voice had a slight crack to it as he looked at the girl in front of him.

"My father knows. And he's not happy. We need to stop." Yura told him.

"We- I mean-" Niki chuckled slightly to shake his nerves off but it wasn't working, not in the slightest "Maybe he just needs some convincing? A-and maybe we'll just tell my mother and she'll help us. She'd for sure be on our side, I mean-"

"No."

Niki stared at Yura. His heart was beating fast against his chest but he was relieved that he could still feel it because if not then he might just think he had died right in that moment. She was breaking up with him.
She wasn't even trying to convince her father of accepting them. No, she just gave them up.

"We can't convince my father. Believe me, he's too stubborn." Yura said after a small silence.

"How did he even find out?" the boy muttered.

Yura closed her eyes from disappointment in herself "I.. Was in the phone with Yuta and we talked."

"About us?" Niki motioned back and forth between Yura and himself. The girl nodded.

The Nishimura boy sighed and ran his hand through his hair "Fuck." He muttered.

"I'm sorry. It's my fault." Yura cried and finally looked at him again "I love you, you know I love you. But we can't do anything against my father."

"Then we'll just do everything in secret again-" Niki tried to say but Yura was already shaking her head.

"He'll have his eyes on us. He'll watch us like a hawk for probably forever!" she told him.

"No, I'm not leaving like this."

Heavy tears flowed down Yura's cheeks. He was making this harder than it already was. She didn't want to go further and say things she doesn't even mean, but he was too stubborn.

"Niki, don't you get it!?" her voice rose but she held it low enough for just the ones in that room to hear "I want to end this! Things between us. I don't want to be with you anymore." there. She said it. If Niki wouldn't go away now then she didn't know what to do anymore.

He probably hates her now. But she was okay with that if it meant that he could stay in Japan with his mother and not get beaten by her father.

The hurt across Niki's face was tearing at Yura's heartstrings and she couldn't look at him anymore, opting to stare to the side and at her desk.

It took a few seconds but soon enough Niki stood up from the bed and wordlessly left the room. He left her door open and took large strides back to his room while Yura didn't try to hide her crying anymore.

Niki threw his door open and slammed it shut behind him, not caring if he was waking anyone. The rage he felt was bigger than that. And the sadness as well.

He let his body fall back against the door and put his hands on his face as he felt hot tears trailing down his cheeks. His knees gave out and he slid down against the door while he buried his face still in his hands. He slammed the back of his head back against the door a few times, trying to distract himself with physical pain from the pain he felt in his heart.

He cried much that night. For hours. The last time he cried that much was probably when he found out that his father died.
And this had hurt really much.
