Mrs. Nishimura, Niki and Yura stayed until evening and Yura's mom also offered them to stay the night but Mrs. Nishimura was uncertain, not wanting to invade someone else's home even tho both adults from Yura's side of the family reassured her that it was no big deal.

The five of them were sitting at the dining table after the boyfriend of Yura's mom had cooked dinner while Yura and the older woman talked.
Niki noticed how much more open Yura was being. She was smiling and joking around with both her mom and the man that she had as boyfriend.
It was easy to realize that the whole house had a different atmosphere than the one of her dad had.
This house felt like home.

Niki watched his girlfriend, a small smiling grazing his lips as he saw her truly happy and comfortable with her own family.
The boy noticed the similarities between Yura and her mother as well. They may look nothing alike because Yura got the most visible features from her father, but she clearly got her mother's personality.

The mom's boyfriend was not much different. He joked along with them in his own way. He was a sarcastic and mocked both Yura and her mom every chance he got but after a few times Niki realized that that was their dynamic. They were happy acting like that.
The boy also guessed that Yura picked a few habits up from her mother's boyfriend because they'd react similar to things Yura's mother would do or say.

Like right now. Yura's mom glanced up, trying to see if anyone saw that she spilled some sauce on the table. Yura and her mom's boyfriend saw and Niki had to chuckle when they let out a synced 'mhmmm'.

"Shut up." Yura's mom laughed and cleaned the sauce from the table.

Niki looked at his mom. He could see that she was having a good time and only now did he notice how long he hadn't seen her like that.

Yura's phone suddenly rang and she stood up "I'll be right back."

She took her phone with her and went into the hallway, answering the call of her grandma "Yes?"

"Hello, I just wanted to inform you that the funeral will be in two days at 2pm." her grandma said over the phone.

Yura was quiet for a second, thinking about how to reply. She knew her grandmother was dearly hurt and she felt sorry that she felt no empathy for that. Yura never really knew how to handle death so she just replied with a soft tone "Yeah okay, I'll see you then."

"goodbye."

"Bye." Yura said and hung the phone up. She stared at the device for another second before making her way back to the dining room.

"What was it?" her mom asked her while eating.

"Uh, grandma said that the funeral will be in two days at 2pm." Yura explained.

"We'll be there." Mrs. Nishimura nodded at the younger girl.

Standing in a deep black dress with a thin black jacket over her shoulders, Yura stared down as the coffin was lowered into the grave.
