Yura was in her room the day, laying in her bed and just thinking about everything that has happened those last two months. The first time she hooked up with Niki, Christmas eve where he almost broke into tears when he saw the gift she had gotten him, Yuta and how protective he was, how he and Niki fought and also how Niki had changed towards her over time.
She didn't know if Niki went downstairs already but she made her way up nonetheless, not wanting to be late for school.
She got ready in the bathroom and then put her school uniform on and walked downstairs. The smell of food reached her nose and she stood in the doorway of the kitchen to see Mrs Nishimura making breakfast, her father sitting at the table.
And Niki.
The boy noticed her first, freezing in his spot as he stopped mid-chewing his breakfast. He stared at her but Yura couldn't bring herself to even look in his eyes for more than a second. She felt embarrassed and pathetic. What did she expect? Niki actually liking her? How out of the ordinary.
The girl turned away and made her way into the hallway, putting her shoes and coat on and she was about to open the front door when Mrs. Nishimura's voice stopped her.
"Yura! Where are you going this early?"
Yura turned around and walked back to the kitchen, standing in the doorway again.
"School." Yura pursed her lips, trying to avoid Niki's eyes on her.
"This early?" her father spoke up, looking at his watch.
Yura shrugged "I still have something to do." talking to Yuta.
"And breakfast?"
"I'll eat later." the girl told her stepmother.
"Okay then." The woman nodded "But wait a few minutes for Riki so you can go together."
"N-no that's not necessary. I'll go now." Yura waved off, cursing herself for stuttering.
Before anyone could reply she turned around and hurried out of the house. Her chest burned and she gulped as she walked along the pathway. Her arms were crossed over her chest as she wore a small frown. Half of her mind revolved around Niki. Did she see everything wrong? Did she interpret everything the wrong way? He never felt the same as her. He would've kissed her if he did, right? Yura bit her lip, trying not to cry. She embarrassed herself and basically revealed how much she really cared about him. How much she liked him. Loved.
And the other half of her mind revolved around Yuta. She needed to talk to him and get everything straight. She wanted him to understand what she felt towards Niki even tho her feelings just backfired. He was right, and she'd admit that to him. But she'd also admit her feelings for Niki towards him. She needed someone to talk to, especially now. Someone who wouldn't bias in this situation but just rely on facts and feelings. She needed her best friend back.
