After that sol went upstairs while living room was quieter than usual, the air heavy with an unspoken tension. Yuri, sitting cross-legged on the couch, tapped her fingers nervously on her knee. Across from her, Chan leaned forward, his hands clasped tightly as he studied the faces of his siblings.
Breaking the silence, Yuri finally spoke. “Before we talk about anything else, there’s something you all need to know. Sol isn’t just anyone. She’s… well, she’s the CEO of SQL.”
“What?” Hyunjin blurted out, nearly falling off the couch.
“SQL?” Felix asked, his eyes wide. “As in the global brand? The one that’s always trending?”
“Yes, that SQL,” Yuri confirmed with a proud smile. “The brand with custom orders that take months and limited editions that sell out in minutes. Sol built it from the ground up. She’s a self-made billionaire.”
Changbin leaned back, letting out a low whistle. “Our sister’s a genius.”
Hyunjin shook his head in disbelief. “And here I thought I was the talented one in the family.”
“This isn’t a joke,” Yuri said, her tone sharp. “She started it when she was just a kid living with Grandma Shin. She didn’t have anyone to rely on, so she created her own path. Saena was the one who helped her through it all.”
Just as the weight of Yuri’s words settled, the sound of the front door opening broke the tension.
“Looks like I’m late to the family gathering,” a familiar voice called out, dripping with dry wit.
All heads turned to see Seungmin entering the room, his sharp, no-nonsense demeanor evident as always. His coat was neatly slung over his arm, and his glasses reflected the dim light of the room. He looked around, his eyes landing on Chan.
“You all seem tense. Did something happen?”
Chan sighed. “Seungmin, where have you been? Sol’s been here for days, and you haven’t even met her.”
Seungmin smirked faintly, adjusting his glasses. “I’ve been busy gathering information on our new sister. Unlike you all, I don’t dive into emotions without facts. I wanted to know everything about her before I approached her.”
“Typical Seungmin,” Felix muttered under his breath.
Yuri rolled her eyes. “You could’ve at least shown up earlier. Sol needs us, and you’ve been acting like some detective instead of a brother.”
Seungmin walked further into the room and placed a thick folder on the table. “I wasn’t just playing detective, Yuri. I wanted to ensure that we know everything about Sol.I’ve been gathering information ever since we found out she’s our sister. And… let’s just say there’s a lot we didn’t know.”
“Like what?” Felix asked, leaning forward.
Seungmin hesitated, glancing around the room. “I can’t explain everything just yet—I need to verify some details first. But what I’ve found so far is enough to confirm one thing: Sol’s life hasn’t been easy.”
Yuri, who had been uncharacteristically quiet, added softly, “She told me bits and pieces. But she left so much out. I think she’s scared to share everything.”
Chan nodded, his expression firm. “Whatever it is, we’ll figure it out together. Sol is one of us, and we protect our own.”
The family exchanged determined nods, their unspoken bond strengthening. Upstairs, Sol rested, unaware of the unfolding conversation—a conversation that would change everything.
