As they talked, Heeseung was trying his best to impress her.

But Saena knew everything.

And she was playing along.

Each time he tried to charm her, she threw it right back, making him flustered in ways he wasn’t used to.

“Oh come on, you’re enjoying this,” he teased, flashing that signature flirty grin of his.

Saena smirked, tilting her head. “You shouldn’t be thinking about younger girls as your future girlfriend, sunshine.”

Heeseung pouted dramatically. “Four years isn’t that big of a gap.”

Saena simply shrugged, her insane attitude only driving him crazier.

Heeseung was the complete opposite of her—playful, flirty, and radiating sunshine energy. But somehow, that made their dynamic even more entertaining.

Just as he was about to retort, a sharp, deafening gunshot rang through the air.

The moment shifted instantly.

Without hesitation, Saena grabbed Heeseung by the collar and yanked him into the bushes with her.

They tumbled down, Saena landing on top of him, her hair falling around them like a curtain.

Heeseung froze.

Their lips were barely inches apart.

His heart pounded, not from the gunshot—but from the sudden closeness.

His eyes locked onto hers, and for a brief moment, the world around them disappeared.

Saena was the first to snap out of it.

She quickly placed a hand over his mouth, her sharp gaze scanning their surroundings.

Then, in a whisper, she warned, “Sunshine, keep quiet for a while, okay?”

Heeseung nodded slowly, his wide eyes flickering between the seriousness in hers and the way her breath ghosted against his lips.

The situation was dangerous.

But damn, he was in trouble.

Saena exhaled sharply, frustration flickering across her face.

"Damn it, Sol never brings a gun with her," she muttered under her breath, barely resisting the urge to yell.

Heeseung, still pinned under her, blinked in confusion.

"Gun? Wait, what?" he whispered, trying to make sense of the situation.

Saena didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she pulled back slightly, giving him enough space to breathe.

"Don't worry, Sunshine. I'm going to protect you," she said in an eerily calm tone, as if she hadn’t just thrown them into a life-threatening situation.

Heeseung’s brows furrowed.

Protect him?

A younger girl protecting him?

That should’ve hurt his pride, but somehow, all he could think about was how ridiculously hot Miss Grumpy looked right now.

Before he could comment, Saena pulled out her phone and swiftly dialed a number.

The line barely rang before it connected.

"Chan oppa," she said, tone steady.

Immediately, chaos erupted on the other end.
