Kook's expression tightens as he watches Amelia's distress, his mind racing to understand her reaction. He sighs heavily, the sound of his exasperation cutting through the tension like a knife. His eyes meet Dohwan's, and they share a look that speaks volumes. The friendship between the two men is strained, the unspoken understanding of a situation gone awry hanging heavy in the air. Olivia, desperate to lighten the mood, attempts a joke. "Well, at least we know who's going to win the 'Best Dressed' award tonight," she says, gesturing to Natasha whose walking by the table making her way to the bar. The room is so tense that the humor falls flat, and Natasha's eyes narrow at the remark. "Very funny," she says, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Kook's grip on the tablecloth tightens, his knuckles whitening. "This isn't a fucking game," he snaps, his patience wearing as thin as the fabric beneath his fingers.
Amelia's heels click against the pavement as she rushes out of the restaurant, her breath coming in ragged gasps. The cool night air does little to calm her racing thoughts. She leans against the building, her eyes stinging with the threat of tears. The neon lights of the city reflect off her face, casting a kaleidoscope of colors over her features. She feels so small, so insignificant. The door to the restaurant swings open, and Olivia steps out into the cool night air. She scans the sidewalk, her eyes searching for Amelia. Spotting her leaning against the building, she hurries over, her heels echoing on the pavement. "Amelia, do you feel better?" she asks, her voice filled with genuine concern.
Amelia's eyes fly open at the sound of Olivia's voice. She takes a deep, shaky breath, trying to compose herself. She turns to face her, her eyes red and swollen from the effort of holding back her tears. "Olivia, just fuck off. Honestly all three of you can fuck off." She says as she begins to walk away. Kook follows behind her, his expression a mix of emotions. He catches up to her, grabbing her gently by the elbow. "Amelia, wait," he says, his voice a mix of anger and pain. "What's going on in that head of yours? Why are you acting like this?" His grip is firm, but not forceful, and he searches her eyes for understanding.
Amelia turns to face him, her eyes flashing with anger and hurt. "What do you mean 'what's going on'? Your friend, the one who's supposed to be like family to you, has been sleeping with your ex, and you don't even blink an eye. And now you bring me to a dinner where some girl degrades me. I guess its someone you have a history with, because she seemed to know you so well. Did you do this on purpose?" Her voice shakes with the accusation, the betrayal feeling like a knife twisting in her gut. His expression darkens, his grip on her elbow tightening slightly. "Amelia, you know I care for you more than I care for anyone else in this world. That girl was Natasha. We had a... complicated past. As for Dohwan and Olivia, it's not my place to control who they date." He steps closer, his voice dropping to a near whisper. "But you're mine, and that's all that matters."
She jerks her elbow away from his grasp, her eyes flashing. "I'm not a possession, Kook," she says through gritted teeth. "And if you can't see the problem with this whole situation, then maybe we're not on the same page." His eyes narrow into slits, and his jaw clenches as he steps closer to her. "Amelia, don't you dare say that," he growls, his voice a warning. "You know how much you mean to me. This isn't about ownership, it's about love." His words are like a slap in the face, and she can see the fury rising in his eyes. "You're upset over Dohwan and Olivia, aren't you?" he demands, his voice tight with anger. "Is that what this is about? Tell me the truth, Amelia. Do you still love him?" His eyes bore into hers, searching for the answer he doesn't want to hear.
