Chapter 23

I entered the rehearsal room with my fast beating heart, hindi ko na-check ang cellphone ko kagabi after namin makauwi ni Hiraeth dahil sa pagod, tapos late na ako nagising kanina, and instead of updating my manager, I was distracted by Hiraeth, and later on forgot about my probably angry manager.

It's already 7pm, the usual time for my rehearsal and training, hinatid ako ni Hiraeth and I told her na I won't be able to update as much for the next few days dahil sa dalawang absents na ginawa ko.

I haven't open my phone for almost two days, and was just using Hiraeth's while I'm on her house.

I know what I did was really bad, no one knows where I am, my manager was left with the work I am supposed and scheduled to do and she had to tend to it without any proper excuse from me, Wynea is burdened with taking care of my father for two days because I was nowhere to be seen, I didn't update anyone and left the world for two days, which is already a lot.

"Mabuti at naisipan mo pang magpakita sa amin," bungad ni Clare, kita sa mukha niya na kulang siya tulog, "One text, Thebe, one text, pero hindi mo manlang nagawa. Kahit sana kina Tita nagsabi ka, pero kahit sila walang alam kung saang lupalop ka ng bansa nagpunta, mahirap ba mag-type ng ilang salita sa telepono mo para lang ipaalam sa amin kung buhay ka pa?"

Hindi ako nag-salita, ni-hindi ako maka-tingin sa mga mata niya dahil sa guilt.

Sa loob loob ko, nag-iisip na ako ng pwede kong gawin para hindi na siya magalit sa akin.

Tatakasan mo lahat ng responsibilidad mo tapos ako ang papahirapan mo." dagdag pa niya.

Pwede bang umiyak na lang ako sa harapan niya tapos bati na kami?

"And if you needed that break I could have done something! Kaso hindi eh, you suddenly disappeared! Ipapaalala ko lang sa'yo ha, may concert ka, may mga advertisement ka, may interviews, may photoshoots. Kaya bahala ka, the next days you'll be flooded with work! And I don't want to hear any complaints dahil ginusto mo 'to. Bear the consequences of your actions."

She walked out, and I wasn't able to say anything, hindi rin nanaman magde-deny, dahil lahat ng sinabi niya ay tama, the guilt I had before entering the room, doubled.

The rehearsal finished at 2 am, the following days just like what Clare said, I was flooded with work that lasted for 2 weeks.

Right now, nag-iisip na lang ako ng paraan kung paano ba kami magbabati ni Clare, kinakabahan kasi ako kahit lalapit pa lang siya sa akin tapos magbibigay ng schedule, si Ate, hindi ngumingiti, seryoso lang siya.

Ewan ko na lang talaga, kapag hindi niya tatanggapin ang sorry ko mas mabuti na atang mag-quit na ako.

I held my phone tightly, huling schedule na 'to, nasa labas pa si Clare kasi she's talking to some staff, siguro to finalize some stuff.

When she entered I shifted from my seat, awkward kasi. I saw her look at me from the rear view mirror and I was about to smile at her kaso nag-iwas na siya ng tingin.

"Eli a dès tayo, last schedule for today and you are free though not from rehearsals but you can still adjust it if needed, the announcement of your concert will be tomorrow. Mabilis lang tayo so don't worry, you'll just film an advertisement for Castellano Beanery."
