After finishing dinner, Jimin leaned back slightly in his chair, feeling full and content. It had been a long time since he had a proper home-cooked meal like this.
Grandma noticed his expression and chuckled. "Did you like the food, Jimin?"
Jimin nodded enthusiastically. "It was amazing, Grandma! I haven’t eaten such delicious food in a long time."
She smiled warmly. "I’m glad. You’re too skinny, son. From now on, you have to eat properly, alright?"
Jimin chuckled. "Yes, Grandma."
As the cook cleared the table, Grandma turned to him. "Now, tell me, Jimin. When do your classes usually end?"
"Around 4 PM," Jimin answered. "So, I’ll be free in the evenings."
"Perfect," she said. "You’ll just need to remind me to take my medicines on time and take me to the park in the evening. Other than that, you can study or do whatever you need to."
Jimin nodded. "That sounds good. It’s not difficult at all."
Grandma patted his hand. "Good. You don’t have to do any housework or anything like that. Just be here when I need you."
Jimin smiled. "I will, Grandma."
She stood up slowly. "Alright, it’s getting late. You should go rest. Tomorrow is your first day of work."
Jimin stood up as well, stretching a little. "Thank you for everything, Grandma."
She chuckled. "No need to thank me, son. I’m happy to have some company."
Jimin bowed slightly before heading back to the cottage. As he walked through the quiet garden, he looked up at the night sky, feeling a strange sense of comfort.
For the first time in a long while, he didn’t feel completely alone.
Maybe this place would really change his life.
Later that evening, as he unpacked, his phone buzzed with a message from Taehyung.
Tae: "So? How's the mansion life, Mr. Caretaker?"
Jimin: "It's not a mansion for me, Tae. It's a cottage. But it's really nice."
Tae: "Hah, whatever. Just don't forget to invite me over. I need to approve your new living arrangement!"
Jimin chuckled, shaking his head, He's very grateful to have a friend like Taehyung although they have become friends a few weeks ago, it still felt like they were friends since childhood.
"Have you ever met someone and felt an instant connection? Within a few days, they become close friends, and it feels like you've known them forever. It's as if time stands still, and your bond grows stronger with each passing moment. You share laughter, secrets, and memories, and before you know it, they've become an integral part of your life. It's a magical feeling, one that reminds us that true connections can transcend time and circumstance."
