He could feel someone touching his face while another set of hands gently held his shoulders, as if trying to calm him down before he received whatever news was coming.

He wasn't joking when he said he could hear the panicked breathing of his second oldest brother as they anxiously waited for the doctor to check his eyes.

"Yeah, he's fine" the doctor said, scribbling something in his notes before turning his gaze back to the boy in front of him.

"He just needs to rest until his eyesight returns" he informed them, but his words didn't seem to ease the tension in the room. Taufan looked extremely stressed, his hands gripping his hair in frustration.

"How long will that be doctor?" Sensing his brother's distress increasing, Ice took the initiative to ask. The alien doctor sighed, hesitating for a moment before looking at them with an unreadable expression.

"Unfortunately, we don't know for sure how long it will last."

And just like that, the bad news of the day had arrived.

Taufan practically yanked his hair harder, while Ice's concern for their brother deepened.

"It could last an hour, a week... even years-"

"WHAT?!" Taufan practically screamed, his hands gripping his hair tightly.

"You are saying he could be blind for years?!" The doctor sighed but didn't seem surprised by the reaction.

"I understand this is difficult to hear, but his condition is temporary and his vision will return, we just can't predict exactly when"

"That's not reassuring at all!" Taufan snapped, pacing in frantic circles with his breathing erratic, his mind spiraling into panic.

"Hali and Gempa are going to kill me!" he wailed, tugging at his hair.

"I was supposed to protect both of them and here I am! redirected the attack straight at solar's face!"

"Chill, he's not dead" Ice said, leaning back against the examination table, arms crossed.

"We don't need another Gempa" Taufan turned to glare at him.

"Ice, this isn't funny!" Ice met his gaze, unimpressed.

"I am not joking, If you keep panicking like that, we will have two Gempa level meltdowns to deal with" Taufan groaned loudly, dragging his hands down his face and was about to retort when Solar finally spoke.

"I am fine" His voice was quiet but firm, It was the kind of tone he used when he wanted everyone to stop fussing over him.

"It's not like I am dying or anything, it just burns a little." Ice turned his head toward him, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"You hate the dark Solar"

Solar froze.

"You can't see anything but pinch black right now" Ice continued.

"That doesn't bother you?"

Silence.

Solar's hands which had been resting on his lap, slowly clenched the fabric of his pants, his breathing which had been steady, hitched just a little.

He had been trying to ignore it, pretend that this wasn't a big deal, that everything would go back to normal soon. But now that Ice had said it out loud, he couldn't unhear it and couldn't unfeel the suffocating void around him.

No light, No shadows, Just endless black.

His fingers twitched and Ice ever observant caught it immediately with Taufan's panic returned in full force.
