Ice never made a big deal out of his birthday, it was just another date on the calendar, nothing to celebrate. That's what he told himself every year and usually, it worked.

But this year felt… different.

He woke up to the usual morning chaos.

Taufan and Blaze were chasing each other down the hall, Gempa was already prepping breakfast, Solar was muttering about a chemical reaction, and Thorn was still in his pajamas, clinging to his blanket.

"Morning" Ice greeted casually.

"Morning!”" they all echoed back.

And that was it.

No Happy Birthday, No knowing looks, No suspicious behavior.

Just another day.

He told himself it didn't matter, he never cared about this stuff anyway. So he lounged around the house like usual, yawning dramatically, stealing a cookie from Gempa's plate, dozing off in the sun.

Calm, relaxed, unbothered.

But as the hours slipped by, a dull ache started to settle in his chest.

They really forgot?

Maybe it wasn't important, maybe he really wasn't the kind of brother people threw surprises for and that was fine, really, He didn't want anything big.

By the afternoon, he was quieter than usual. Even Thorn noticed.

"You okay, Ice?"

He stared at the clock more often now, Every creak of the stairs, every burst of laughter in another room, made his heart flicker with tiny hope.

Hope that faded again and again.

By evening, he sat on the edge of his bed staring at the wall, arms loosely crossed. On the outside, he looked the same, cool, calm, a little bored.

On the inside, he was tired, not from being sleepy but from waiting for something that wasn't coming.

He sighed and stood up.

"Whatever, Just another day"

Then he opened the door to his room and went toward the living room.

"SURPRIIIISE!!"

The room lit up with strings of soft blue lights. A banner hung crookedly on the wall saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ICE!" Snowflake cutouts dangled from the ceiling. In the center of it all was a cake shaped like a sleeping polar bear.

His brothers were there, grinning, flushed from running around to set everything up.

"You thought we forgot!" Blaze pointed at him while Solar gave a smug smirk.

"Come on, we are not that heartless" the youngest said as Gempa held a plate out.

"Took us all day to get everything right, we wanted it to be special"

"Surprise!" Taufan bounced beside him and wrap his hand around his shoulder while Thorn ran up and hugged his leg.

"You didn't look happy today, but now you will be, right?" Even Halilintar, standing in the back with his arms crossed, gave a small, almost shy nod.

"...Happy birthday, Ice."

Ice stared at them.

He blinked. Then he blinked again.
