Rajveer's POV

It's been an hour since Ahana has calmed down but seems like a plastic doll, idle and silent. She has shut herself down capturing herself in the gloomy cloud which has the capability of snatching away those shine from her eyes. Her face has got dull and pale as she stares at the faded purple and blue sky sitting in the balcony with a shawl wrapped around her.

When I came to take a file I forgot my eyes noticed she was having a panic attack. My heart drummed theatrically hard and I tried my best to calm her down. She was asking me not to leave her like others did and cried out like a baby holding onto me.

My heart swelled with millions of questions while anger pumped through me but pushing all aside I gently caressed her back and massaged her head. She subconsciously fell asleep for a few minutes but again woke up probably due to the haunting dream.

However, before I could cradle her in my warm arms she chose to avoid looking in my eyes and went out. I didn't dare to utter a word or make her feel uncomfortable but simply just let her have her time while I was sitting at the back in room with my eyes glued to her.

This girl ever since she came into my life has been a mystery; beautiful yet fragile. Her laughter says many things but her silence shouts through her eyes. Her irritation and fears tell an untold story and as per my assumption it all links up to our sudden marriage and her family.

But what? That is still out of my conscience.

Sighing I get up from the couch and walk out of the room giving her the space she needs.

Ahana's POV

These dreams, these shadows of the past reminiscent are following me like a bad deed. They always knock at my door whenever the glimpse of happiness could be seen through my window. Those three months have left a deep dark imprint in my soul and the mind. Every time I think I deserve to smile and laugh, lead a happy life, and be blessed with love, those memories start haunting me and I feel my soul shrink. My heart quivers and my brain stops functioning in a correct manner.

Hugging myself as I stare at the dark yet empowering delight of the night my mind takes me back to the days when these eyes now dull and boring used to be lively and shining.

It was a warm morning of winter and I was suppose to be on bed till late since I returned from the hostel. But my brother's brought the dal kachori and aloo tarkari from the famous shop of our town while my father made a masala tea for me. Everyone dragged me out of bed and fed me those yum hot kachori with tarkari with their hands one by one. And for sweetness to melt in our mouths, jalebi with rabdi from my mother's hand was specially made for me. It was a great way to start the day with loads of pampering and spoiling.

Even that was a time when days used to be so colourful but ever since that day the darkness allured me. Now, they will do such things again and have a nice time but unfortunately I'd never have any moment to have that with them again.

Today, Rajveer's little surprise made my heart swelled. Though it was not how I usually have had in my past but his sweet little gestures took me to the lane of those old days. His thoughtfulness behind making my day was enough and I realize maybe that's why I was triggered by the ghost of fear, a fear of losing my people's.

Taking a few deep breaths, I try to calm my heart and mind, blinking away the lone tears trying to escape down my eyes and roll down through my cheeks. When her phone rings with a text message and she peers up to it.

"Hey, my lovely sunshine. I miss you so badly! You know today I made custard pudding, do you like it? My son doesn't at all. Okay, bye. I won't disturb you two. Love you", it was my mother-in-law.

Ever since we have come here she always drops these cute messages every now and then: reminding there's someone who dearly wants me. Her cute gestures make my heart skip a beat and I couldn't help but blush at her heart touching words.

A throaty chuckle escapes my lips as I reply to her text. "Yes, Maa. I love it and I miss you too. Love you, take care", I type.

This wantingly, rare and deep bond with a person I barely had spend time with feels so unrealistically beautiful. I never knew how badly I needed her in my life until today when I actually couldn't get my head clear but her one text made me feel so lively again.

I wish I could just hug you right now!, I pout.

My eyes brim with glistening tears as I feel a tie knot twist in my stomach.

"It's okay, life is a teacher. Don't cry for something which you lost but be happy for what you have", my subconscious mind mumbles the words I read in the book I was reading.

A soft smile rushes to my lips and I hug myself tightly before going to the bubbly Ahana she slowly retrieved me too. Jumping off the swing, I make my way out to the room when Rajveer's sight made me halt at my steps.

My chirping eyes got stuck and the smiling face flushed with a pink hue. He glances at me briefly, head to toe, and slowly enters the room keeping the tray he was carrying while I just noticed.

"Umh--", he begins his voice hesitant as he took a few steps back. "I--I- I was feeling hungry so I cooked noodles for me, would you like to have some?", he asks and my heart skips a beat while a smile bursts on my lips.

His eyes clearly tells he is lying.
But I like it!

"I'm sure now you don't know how to cook but only this", I blurted at his face, unable to hold my laugh at his cuteness. "But anyways, I'm in", I chirp.

Taking my place on the recliner, I start serving noodles for myself in a bowl but then seeing him standing in amusement I stopped.

"Mr. Singhania, you can get your self comfortable. It's your room only", I say in a bland voice with a stoic face and he quickly actions to my word making me muffle a laugh.

Smiling internally at his pookie acts, I pass my bowl to him and serve another one for me. And without any need of music, entertainment or hearty deep long talks, we silently ate the noodles enjoying the crisp yet breezy air and our time with a smile attached to our lips.

"Peace" is what I felt in this moment with my Mood Lifter!
