*Reception time*

The sun danced right over the palace, putting its reflection on the big fountains water. The VVIP guests, relatives, and families, one by one, started showing up in the hall room. The reception was held in the home wing this time, as the guests were hardly around 100. Rajveer wanted a limited people's appearance as the wedding held many faces, and he usually likes to avoid social gatherings.

Damini was given the responsibility to receive the guests at the gate and greet them, while Veer and Rajni made sure everyone was well hosted. Her son was still missing, and she was oblivious about his whereabouts; hence, she was relieved to not be around her father. Manoj checks on the security team, directing them not to let anyone inside who didn't have an invitation, and making sure the arrangements are perfect, assisting the staff.

On the other hand, Rajveer was getting ready in his fainted pink sherwani with pink thread designs at places with stones on it, in his secret room, leaving Ahana free space in the room.

A constant smile was dancing on her lips this morning; the magnetic pull toward her and the touch were hovering over his head. He couldn't shake off the cuteness she carries, the way she was secretly stealing glances at him, and the electrifying spark.

"Is there really a chance to change the 'Compromise marriage" into something else?" he asks himself with a hope glint in his eyes. "But till when?" he then frowns, feeling desperate to experience more.

"What's wrong with you, Rajveer? Don't forget, you were about to spell something similar to that. Maybe a bit harsh one", his subconscious reminds him, and he sighs.

Last night, while walking to his room, Rajveer was thinking about how to tell his little wife that this marriage will never blossom with love. She shouldn't expect anything from this marriage, nor will he accept it. In the room, they are more like roommates, and outside, they are like husband and wife. But there is no scope beyond that because he doesn't like to repeat his mistakes. It's one of his rules: "No strings attached, anymore." As that only brings pain and the heart he doesn't have, how can he give her?

A knock lands on his door, startling him out from those thorny roads where only pain is received, and he quickly combs his hair, pushing his silky locks side-wise backwardly. He then looks at him for the last time and puts on some vintage perfume before making his way out of the room. He uses his secret door as he asks the maids to let him know when they are done and leave the room. And the moment he opens the door, he finds his wife standing there, unaware she was trying to sneak inside, thinking he is not there and has already left.

"Fuck---!" a horrified gasp escapes her lips, feeling startled by her sudden arrival. "Are you nuts? Esa kon darata hai? Jaan nikal gyi meri," she slaps his chest out of panic, and he remains astounded. He didn't expect this sudden outburst, especially that slap, though it didn't hurt him. "I'm sorry!" he managed to utter, though it wasn't his fault. He didn't know she'd be standing there.

Shit!, She curses internally, realizing it was her fault instead of his.

"I'm so sorry. Galti meri hai," she says, making up for her mistake. "Mujhe laga tum andar nai ho," she blurts innocently, and Rajveer's eyes dilute in amusement.

His eyes run through her head to toe, finding her looking no less than a doll in that lehenga. Their dress was set in a contrasting colour combination; his light pink while her dark one. Her hair was left open from behind while in front few strands were curled, resting on the contour of her face. Her beauty with minimal makeup kept the innocence and natural beauty of her alive making him unable to tear his gaze.

The sides of his eyes crinkle faintly as he smiles feeling enchanted with her mesmerising look. While she thinks he was laughing at her and instantly clears her 'raita', saying, "No, I mean. I didn't mean to spy; it's just that I was curious." Ahana fidgets her finger looking down at the floor with nervousness as she wonders what he might be thinking about her. Rajveer couldn't help but grin at her cuteness and said, "I don't mind, even if you do."

His heart undoubtedly flutters seeing her adorable face and he walks inside his room. While it took a whole minute for her to process what he said as she nodded bluntly, lost in her daze.

Wait... What?
I can go inside his room!

"Ummh--," he cuts her off. "Mom texted, guests are waiting for us," he ushers, and she lets the topic slide down for now. But mentally makes a note to go inside that mysterious room at any cost and wander.

Walking out of the room, Rajveer needed not to take a second and understood she was nervous again. Though he doesn't know that she hasn't been exposed to a lot of people in the past three months, she is getting anxious. He silently extends his arms a bit toward her, and she looks at his arms and then at him with puzzled eyes.

"I know you'll need it," he says shortly, eyeing his arm. Her brows creased for a second in confusion, but then she smiled brightly and wrapped her palm against his arm. "Thank you," she mumbles.

"Btw, this color suits you," Rajveer couldn't help but compliment her.

He had been struggling with how to do so for the past few minutes, but looking into her eyes, he couldn't help but say the truth. A pinkish tint coats Ahana's cheeks as heat rises to her face, and she feels her lips glued together.

Rajveer felt nervous hearing no reply from her and thought he offended her. But then she says, "You are looking nice too." And he smiles.

----------------------

Every eye turned to the newlywed couple as they showed up, passing the security circle. Every entrance has one or two security guards to make sure no one goes inside the residing corners of this hall room. Ahana smiles nervously, while Rajveer puts on his usual neutral expression.

"Here come the stars of our party," Rajni chimes and walks to their side. Embrace them for a warm hug. "You both look so cute together," she praises, and quickly puts a Kohl dot behind their ears. "Mom..." Rajveer groans, feeling embarrassed, but she shushes him, making Ahana giggle internally.

"This dark pink suits you perfectly. I must say my son has a good choice," she mumbles, exposing his son near her. "Mom," he hisses internally. His heartbeat accelerates at her words, while Ahana looks at Rajni in amusement. "He chose?" she raises her thoughts out subconsciously, and Rajveer, gulping, excuses himself, leaving her dumbfounded.

"Yes, he did. That's why he ran off like that," she says with a giggle. "I chose a cyan blue color, but he was like, This will go better on her. And see, it does," she adds further, dancing her brows at her, and Ahana unknowingly blushes.

How sweet of him!, she thought.
