Author's POV

"Pata nahi kya samjhte hai khudke, shadi ki hai toh hukum chalate rahengey", walking to the corridor she blabbers to herself. Her cute nose flaring in anger as she recalls his words.

"Ab unke pasand ke kapde pehnu. Katai nahi!", she growls internally. Adamant, to not agree with him at all.

"Mai apni marzi ke hi kapde pehnungi, aur waise bhi woh pati hai par naam ke", she tries to chastise herself. Calming her bubbling anger. "Toh kyun hi sunu unki baatein?", Ahana adds, making herself believe that she is right and he was wrong though her heart was slowly trying to manipulate her, saying she was wrong to act stubbornly.

"It was just a small thing and it shouldn't have mattered", her subconscious mind said. "It does!", she replies.

As the conflict inside her carries on, her phone starts to vibrate in her hand and in a reflex she answers it.

"Hello..", her voice is dry and bland.

"H-Hello beta, what happened is everything okay?", a warm voice comes from the other end, confused with the dryness in her voice.

"Oh- hi Mom, yeah I'm good it's just your son gets on my nerves", she blatantly replied, gritting her teeth, as she feels irked internally.

Rajni couldn't stop but laughed at her words. She was overwhelmed to know that her daughter in law and son are acting more like a husband and wife.

"Why are you laughing, mom?", Ahana pauses, frowning with confusion. "Ahmm.. nothing darling. I just remembered something. Btw when are you coming up? How's everything going on?", she inquires and Ahana shrugs, ignoring the fact she why she was laughing.

"Oh maybe today or tomorrow. I don't know actually", she replies. "I haven't seen the house properly yet", she adds staring at her surroundings and Rajni frowns.

"Darling, haven't you stayed in that house since childhood?", she asks, baffled with her words.

"Oh, no. Not that house, I meant this Sheesh Mahal. It's so pretty and beautiful. Can I stay here for a few days?", she excitedly asks, forgetting that their arrival here was a secret escape from harsh reality.

"Sheesh Mahal? You both are there?", she inquired with amusement. "Haven't you visited your parents house?", she adds and Ahana gulps. Reality kicking in, finally.

"Oh yes. We did visit there. But then we came here at night as I wanted to. I'm sorry for not informing you beforehand", she adds, sounding apologetic.

Rajni chuckles lightly, a grinning smile adorning her lips. "You don't need to be, baby. Instead, it's good news that my son took you there", she says with a nostalgic smile. "Enjoy your time, and have a great honeymoon. Bye!", she chimes at the end and cuts the call leaving Ahana with a cherry red cheeks.

Honeymoon? With him? Here??, her heart skips a beat and she looks down, feeling shy with the mere words.

Oh-wait! Why did she say it's good news?, she asks, trying to distract herself from the radiating heat.

"Maybe, it's just normal to say and nothing much", her subconscious replies and she nods.

On the other hand, Rajni was very happy that her son took the initiative of visiting Sheesh Mahal again, especially with his new wife. "What's wrong wifey, why are you so happy?", Veer asks.

"Our son went to our old house, with his wife to spend some quality time. Isn't it great!", she chirps, holding him through his arms. Happiness depicting through her glowing face.
