Tick... Tick... Tick...

Ah, nothing like the soft sound of a clock in an otherwise silent space.

It was a cozy snowy night. The heater was on a full, eighty degree blast, the couch was freshly cleaned, no weird calls from MIRA, and she had a nice manga, with the living room lit by a warm-tinted lamp. Little to no chaos today, at most, just a debate over whether the group should get 2% or 3% milk for cereal mornings... Yep. It was a nice day for anyone named "Akari Kokoro".

Crunchcrunchcrunchcrunch...

Akari: Hm. Psy's home...

Akari quickly switched her manga out for a packet containing info on past court cases from Texas, flipping to a random page. Meanwhile, the door's knob was heard hitting the wall with a "Thonk", briefly startling Kokoro. Psy stormed in, teeth grinding, and smoke coming from his fists.

Akari: Please don't tell me you incinerated another rose bush...
Psy, bluntly: I didn't...
Akari: Well that's a relief...

Akari didn't look up from the packet.

Psy: It was a field of tulips.
Akari: Phoenix...
Psy: Hey, I've had a rough day at MIRA. This new guy they hired was a total... He belongs on Jack@ss!
Akari: That bad, hm?
Psy: Yeah. When I was working on starting up the reactor for the day, the guy barged into the room, and thought he somehow knew instantly how to do it.
Akari: How dumb was he?
Psy: He shoved me to the floor, and just randomly spammed the buttons. Tuned me out when I explained the "Simon Says" mechanic to it, and we lost power for three goddamn hours! And during all that, they shoved an extra shift on me for it.
Akari: And I'm assuming they didn't let you explain?
Psy: No. Because why would they get all the insight on the incident when they can just stick all the blame on the guy who was literally assaulted and knocked aside by the guy who pressed the wrong buttons! And MIRA iS aN aMaZiNg JuDgE oF cHaRaCtEr!! So they must be goddamn right about every effing thing that goes on!! I mean really?! Why does my workplace have to be run by a bunch of...
Akari: Boneheads?
Psy: Don't sugarcoat it, Akari.
Akari: A$$holes?
Psy: Ehhhhh... Better?
Akari: A bunch of Barney Gumbles?
Psy: What?

Seb stumbles a bit down the stairs, wearing a white shirt, red flannel pants, slippers, and a sleepy expression.

Seb: Psy... You good...? (Yawn) I could hear you from the fourth floor...
Psy: Stay out of this, Seb! I don't wanna get you in any trouble!

By the time Psy had warned the Rewriting Chibi, he was asleep, right on the stair he was standing on.

Psy: Thank you...

PC, offscreen: WILL YOU SHUT THE F-CK UP, DEMON RUNT!? I HAVE A MINIGAME TO PLAN!
Psy: Why don't you stuff it, huh, PaRaBoTtOm?! We don't like your minigames! No one. In this f-cking house. Does. Find a new way to amuse yourself!!!

Garry, who was just getting something to drink, was at the end of the rope, shown as he slammed the door open, and stormed right to his demon-esque frenemy.

Garry: Will you SHADDUP about yer day?! I get it was damn awful, but I got way worse! I'm the damn MEG of this group!!
Psy: What...?
Garry: Instead of just hollerin' at us all, at TEN-THIRTY in the damn evening, why not jus' DO somethin' about that anger! Like... I dunno, burn down that guy's place! BITE BACK! Don' take it sittin' down!
Psy: OKAY! Maybe I will!! Thank you!

He storms out of the house, slamming the door.

Seb, groggy: Mmmmhhhhhmmmm...? What..? What happened?
Akari: I have no idea.
Garry: Cherry would call it... "Crime Brûlée".

The lanky egocentric gave a comically extended grin, only to be met with the glares of the Chibi and the Blonde Snarker.
