Liberty's POV
The doorbell rings that Sunday afternoon as Trey and I lay on the couch and watch "12 Years a Slave." I groan in annoyance.

"Were you expecting anyone?" I ask him while taking a sip of my lemonade.

"No. I don't know who that is." He responds while giving me a weird look.

"Maybe they left." I say after a couple of seconds of silence.

The doorbell rings again.

"Go check for me please." He begs.

Of course he has an excuse. He's injured. I reluctantly roll out of his arms and trudge to the door.

"Who is it?!" I ask.

"It's me, Krissy!" The woman responds.

Who the hell? I check the peephole to find a pretty dark skin female standing outside. I open the door to face her.

"Hi." She says smiling,"Is Trey home?"

"I'm right here. Krissy? Is that you?" Trey asks standing a couple feet away.

"In the flesh." She says and runs over to him to give him a hug.

"Ow ow!" He exclaims.

"Sorry. I forgot that you're hurt." She responds while pulling away.

I close the door and stand there in complete confusion. Trey looks up at me and slaps his hand on his forehead like he just remembered something.

"I'm being so rude. Krissy, this is my friend Liberty. Liberty, this is Krissy. We grew up together in VA." He says while looking at her fondly.

Woah. Friend?! I know I shouldn't be upset, but that's what he thinks we are? A pang of hurt, anger, and jealously hit me.

I fake a smile and say,"Nice to meet you."

"Hi." She says quickly and turns her attention back to Trey who obviously just wants to speak to her.

Feeling left out, I decide to go to my room.

"I'm gonna go to my room to study." I lie to them while we walk down the hallway.

"Aww. No, Lib. Come talk with us. Krissy is really cool. I bet ya have lot in common." Trey says before placing an arm over Krissy's shoulder and squeezing it.

No and no. She seems annoying.

"No, but thanks. Nice meeting you, Krissy." I say tightly.

"C'mon-" Trey begins to say but get cut off by Krissy.

"Let her go and study. We have a lot to catch up on" she tells him while pushing him into the family room.

Trey laughs and goes with her. I walk up the rest of the steps as their laughter fills the house. I get to my room and close the door. I plop on my bed and turn on my music a little loud so I don't have to hear them. I leave for my home in Connecticut in two days, and I'm kind of reluctant to go. What will Trey do without me here? Why am I acting like this? He probably has mad chicks he talks to.

I shouldn't be mad because he's not actually mine. We just mess around a lot with each other.

Krissy's POV

I'm sure to touch Trey's knee from time to time while we talk. He looks so damn fine still. I haven't seen him in 3 years. If it wasn't for my girl Scarlett and her boo thang Monte, I would've never seen Trey.

They told me their plan and I'm still loving it. Trey broke my heart long ago. That's why we lost contact, Pay back is a bxtch. That Liberty girl is pretty and everything, but she isn't all that. I can already sense her butt getting jealous but this is only the beginning.

Trey's POV

Woah. Krissy sure did grow up and blossom. She used to be, excuse me, ugly as hell. Now, she's gorgeous. I know I broke her heart a couple years ago, but we've moved past that. It's kind of weird how she popped out of no where though.

It's all good because we were best friends.
