Liberty's POV
I drive away from Trey's house the next morning without even saying goodbye. He never bothered coming out of his room, but I sensed that he looked out his window as I left. Good riddance.Unfortunately, every five minutes he pops up in my mind. He's still injured so I can't help but think about who's gonna help him around the house.
"Stop, Liberty. He can figure it out. He's a grown man." I say to myself.
I blast some gospel music to take my mind off of the past couple hectic days. I have a 6 hour drive ahead of me, I need to focus.
Trey's POV
Liberty leaves me without a word. I can't lie; my heart cried a little as she left. She's making this hard for me. I guess it's back to Virginia for this winter break. I have to pack all my shig by myself.I'll do it later. I go to the bathroom to shower and brush my teeth. It's hard to do this crap without help from Liberty. Damn, last night was the worst. I barely slept knowing what I did to Liberty. I feel like a total arse using her these past months mostly for my pleasure, but never taking the time to seriously talk about our relationship.
I should've never messed with her. She was my damn student! I knew better than to cross that line, but her soft chocolate brown skin, pretty face, and beautiful mind stole me.
"Who is this defiant girl?" I asked myself every time we argued after class about her grade.
I found nothing but pleasure and amusement when arguing with her. But, when we crossed that line, I enjoyed it, but also felt guilty. After two months, I realize my heart rages profusely for this woman.
My phone rings and knocks me out of my deep thoughts. It's my mother.
"Hey, mama." I say picking up.
"What's wrong, Tremaine? You sound down." My mother immediately asks.
She never knew about Liberty. She doesn't even know about the fight I got into. I don't know if I should tell her.
"It's just this girl I like... It's nothing." I say giving up.
"No. It's something. What about this girl that you like? Who is she?" She begins to ask.
Here comes the questions.
"I'll tell you when I get down there." I say.
"Are you sure?" She asks again.
"Yes, mama." I reassure her.
"Well, I just called to ask you what did you want for dinner."
This is tough. My mama knows how to throw it down.
"How about fried chicken, baked macaroni and cheese, and spinach casserole?" I ask.
"Wow. You, Forrest, and Rachel, basically asked for the same things." She chuckles.
"Add on anything you'd like because you know we're gonna eat it." I say encouraging her to cook her butt off tonight.
"Alright now. I'll see you later?"
"Yeah. Later, ma."
And she hangs up. I make my way slowly down the steps and into the kitchen to pour myself a bowl of cereal. I'm not in the mood to cook. I really hope going home for a month takes my mind off of her.
