I couldn't see Chance and Ronin, but I could smell them, and taste their emotions. They were standing in awe of Kieyera's living self standing before them. I smiled to myself, remembering the day I found how she was alive, now watching her killers expression or in my case, taste their expression.
"How-" Ronin began.
"Let's just say I have connections." Kieyera interrupted. I tasted Chance's emotions change to determination.
"Where's Beverly?" Chance asked confidently.
"Oh she's here. Beverly?" she called to me. I saw her head turn and make eye contact with me, signalling me to step forward. The rest of the rebellion made a pathway for me to walk up. I kept my chin up and my expression deadly. I walked up slowly as Ronin and Chance came into view. They both watched me carefully. I looked at Chance and he tasted like he was searching me, searching my emotions in some way. Too bad all I saw was plain when I looked at him.
"Bev." Chance whispered. "You have no idea how relieved I am to see you're okay." he said. I glared.
"And I'm supposed to believe that you actually care." I stated. He was brought back by this.
"I do care Beverly. I was just blinded by my own foolish beliefs. I never stopped loving you Bev. Please believe that." he reassured. Since I didn't love him in any way anymore. I was not affected by his words.
"You should have thought of that before I shut it all off." I responded.
"No!" he whispered. I chuckled, now he knew. I turned to Kieyera who took over.
"Sorry about this boys, but I'm afraid we'll be needing Chance to come with us." she said.
"And what shall you do with me, Kieyera?" Ronin asked. The entire rebellion slightly laughed to themselves. Kieyera sighed with an innocent smile on her face.
"What do you think, Ronin?" she asked. Instantly everyone crouched into their fight positions. Even Chance and Ronin were crouched.
"Beverly." Kieyera gestured to me. "You know as well as the rest of us who is the only person who can take down Chance and still leave him alive." she meant me. But she didn't want the other two to understand, but if Chance could taste emotions too, then he knew as well. I nodded and turned to face Chance. I knew he would expect em to just pounce on him, but I had other plans. I used my power and shoved him back with high force. He flung back. At that moment everyone launched at Ronin while I distracted Chance. I walked up to him on the ground.
"How?" he muttered.
"Sometimes loving someone gets you in bad situations." I chuckled. I lifted him in the air with my gift and watched him squirm.
"What did they tell you?" he asked.
"You killed my best friend!" I yelled.
--Chance's POV--
How can she possibly have my powers?! I never used them much because they were unusual and they made it harder to be normal. I read about the legend of the half blood, and I know who I am. But I never thought Bev would develop my powers as well. I wasn't the one who turned her, so I wasn't capable of transfering my powers to her. And now she knows that it was me who staked Keiyera, but shockingly she is still alive! How is that possible? I didn't know how to respond to Bev, she was turnign into something I tried to avoid. I stopped using my powers because they made me a power hungry monster, and now she's becoming that.
"Beverly, it was the only way. She tried to kill me!" I tried to explain. '
"Shut up!" she screamed. I saw tears start to form in her eyes. "I hate you now Chance! But I love Kieyera as a sister! What you do is wrong! And I'm gonna make sure you get your punishment!" she struggled not to sob. She shut off her feelings for me! There is like no absolute way to fix that. When she looked at me, there was no feeling at all, only hate. Her eyes were a dark pit of despair. I shouldn't of hurt her. How could I be so stupid?! Now I lost her forever, my Beverly. My eyes filled with tears, I tried to choke them back, but my heart was sinking into blackness.
"Beverly." I choked out. She just glared at me and dropped me down. Which hurt with the amount of force she was using. I pulled my tears back when I remembered what Ronin was going through. I quickly rushed over to Ronin, but Beverly held me back while the group departed from him. He was lying on the ground, barely alive, scraped up and everything. Kieyera walked up to him as it went dead silent. Kieyera pulled out a stake from her pocket as she walked up to him.
"No!" I yelled, but everyone ignored me. Kieyera leaned down close to his face to look at him.
"I guess your little society wouldn't of lasted much longer anyway. You still have a chance, join the rebellion in our journey to be the greatest of all time. Rule the world." she offered. I knew it, Kieyera's rebellion was in to use me as a waeapon against the royals so she could rule.
"Wait, no!" I yelled. Beverly pushed me down and held me down with her foot on my back. I struggled but she was using her vampire strength along with my powers. Ronin spit in her face.
"I will never join your rebellion, kiss my ass Kieyera." he responded. Kieyera smiled.
"Even if you did, I would still kill you. I'm gonna miss you Ronin." she whispered in his ear. She lifted her head up and shoved the stake into his heart. He gasped one last breath before turning gray and dying. I sobbed.
"No! You bitch!" I screamed.
"Torch it." Kieyera instructed. One of the men lit a match and threw it at Ronin's body and it lit up instantly. Kieyera walked to me and Bev, who got off my back and lifted me up. "Let's go visit our friends the royals." she said. All the rebellion hissed and started running, instead of Beverly dragging me along, it was the two largest guys.
They killed Ronin. My mentor. My boss. My friend. And Beverly was a part of it. I truly have lost her forever.
